View Full Version : Sam Huff hates Haynesworth, I think

I live in Texas now. And in Texas, there are apparently these things called fire ants. And when your wife discovers two ant hills in your front lawn, you go to Home Depot asap - regardless of what stories you may be watching on the television.

So, I went to Home Depot, and listened to the game broadcast on Sirius. It was right at the point that Haynesworth got hurt. And Sam Huff basically mocked him while he was lying on the ground. "He's just tired," he said in a very mocking tone.

Later, I had to go out again, and they were talking about Haynesworth and Sam was bitching that he is basically makes all the decisions about when to come out himself.

So, if your one legendary color commentator hates the coach.

And the other one hates the big free agent signing.....that's bad, right.

i think a lot of older guys that busted their butts on the field, and now watch primadonnas get MILLIONS guaranteed after a couple good seasons, have a disdain for them

Those guys are legends. They ARE the pride of this community. They played the right way. They are watching THEIR organization just like WE are watching OUR organization crumble in a pile. It is absolutely humiliating and they like us have every right to be absolutely outraged by what this organization has become.

I wouldn't go on anything Sam Huff says nowadays.

He's done.

He doesn't know guys names.
Thinks Orakpo played at Oklahoma.
Every play a player makes "is the best play he's made as a Redskin" even when it's a simple tackle in the flat.

It's really cruel to continue to let Huff go out there and embarrass himself every week on the radio.

I agree with you that Huff today was really against number 92. I think he dislikes him because of the money he is "earning". Huff can be real negative especially when not on the radio. At least he came back and played in the second half. He does take up a lot of space and he does help stop the run- at least half the time he is in there.

Whether or not you meant to leave of the question mark I don't know. But I don't think you need to add one.

Sam actually thought that Haynesworth was sleeping.

I joked that he was narcoleptic when he was laying on the field. Then I remembered a Titans fan that came on here and told us he would do stuff like this a lot. So far in all three of our games he seems to ham it up at some point or another. He is a big boy though, so I do legitimately think he get's hurt, I think he just milks it.

I heard that reference on today's radio broadcast, so I'd like to come to Sam's defense:

To directly quote him, he mentioned a player named "Brian Orakey from Oklahoma." Of course he followed by saying "I don't know what the guy's name is," so I guess all bets are off.

Agreed it's hard to listen to him, he stutters all over his words, doesn't know what's going on half the time, and rarely and I mean very rarely adds any insight on the game. The only reason he's around still I think, is because of sonny.

You think Huff wants to fight Big Al???

That would be interesting. I assume Al would dominate the early part of the fight, but need a break a minute into it.

I'm sure there's some resentment for a guy like Huff, there has to be. He played in an era where players didn't make much money at all. And Huff was known as one of the toughest SOB's to ever put on pads. He was on the field every play.

So, he sees a guy with a $100 million contract taking himself out of the game every third play to "rest", I'm sure its maddening.

Actually, anyone who has listened to those too (Sonny too) for long enough know that they've never been a fan of packages and personnel subs... even going back to the first Gibbs' era.

I can still hear Sam from my teenage years

"you're going to take the guy out of the game who just made the play for you??!"

"Umm Sam, it's a punt"

"I don't care, he just made a play! He should be in the game!"
