For now, Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn appears to be safe.

Even with the vultures circling, the Redskins are not expected to make any moves with Zorn, a team source said Sunday night, hours after Washington suffered a historic loss to the Detroit Lions.

To make a move with Zorn now would present more complications than it is worth. Zorn is the head coach, the play caller, works closely with quarterback Jason Campbell. To lose him at this point would be too much for the team to overcome, the Redskins believe.

Calls certainly will mount for Zorn's job now that the Redskins have started this season 1-2 and are 3-8 in their last 11 games.

Few teams have been any more unstable than the Redskins, who have had five different head coaches, and one additional interim coach, in the past 10 years.

Peter King said essentially the same thing.......and Olbermann said Zorn also plays the guy who dances in the Six Flags ads.

From owner to waterboy, every single part of this organization needs an overhaul. Danny needs to start with himself, he is not a GM and this is not a fantasy football team. Its time to hire a football man to run this team!

Owners own
GM manage
Coaches coach
Players play

The ball is in your court Danny boy.

As long as Dick Dan is the owner, we will never win.
We are now, the laughing stock of all pro sports

Peter King said it best. There's no one on the staff that can replace him. Zorn is the both the O-Cordinator and QB coach.

Nothing matters as long as Snyder is calling. He has passed Jerry Jones and Peter Angelos as the worst owner in sports.

Might as well hire Isiah Thomas.

I really am to the point now where I say trade Landry, Moss, Cooley, Carlos, Portis, and whom ever else we can get some value for. Get as many picks for next year so that who ever does come here will have plenty to work with.

Cooley and Carlos are two of my favorite players on this team but they are of the few that have value. Landry to me looks like crap, and I hate how he talks crap to every person he tackles. Carlos is the best corner on the team but he wont be re-signed so we may as well get something in return for him instead of just letting him walk after this year. Cooley is a beast but if Fred is as good as they say we wont lose much there. Just my little rant....

All will be forgiven if we come out and destroy Tampa Bay.

Granted, that's quite an if at this point... but it's still too early to jump off the ledge, lol.

And yeah, I actually agree about Blache. He's got to change the entire scheme NOW. PERIOD.

Sure he is replaceable. He is failing on both accounts. The offense sucks and the QB sucks. The sounds replaceable to me

No real sense in firing him now. We are going to be bad with him, but worse without him. Start the search though, he's gone as soon as the season ends. Campbell too probably.

The problem is not Zorn, solely.

I would be surprised if we even beat Tampa, AT HOME.. I'm not even optimistic about this team any more.

I'm not so sure a Zorn-coached team is all that better than a coachless team. London can run the D, Campbell the O and I don't think it's a terrible dropoff. And of course if Zorn is fired there will still be an actual head coach and coordinators, even if they suck they wouldn't suck too much worse than Zorn. They might even suck better :point2sky

My main thought is that Zorn doesn't deserve to be the head coach for the Redskins the rest of the season. And an in-organization temp replacement for the rest of the season is at worse an expected failure--Zorn is a proven failure.

Zorn better fire Blache and pray another d coordinator can come in to get this defense playing to it's full potential, and essentially save his butt.

WORSE? You just lost to an 0-19 team. That's rock bottom.

He may not be fired just yet, but it is inevitable. I think the coaching search should begin immediatly. It would best suit this team in the long run to get that new coach in here as soon as possible and use the rest of this season to learn the new system under a new coach. The rest of this season would give a new coach plenty of time to evaluate every player on this team during a real game situation week in and week out in a very difficult time. I think a good coach could weed out the bad apples by seasons end, bring in the qb he wants to build with and roll from there. This team lacks real leadership in the two most importants positions ( QB, HC ).

It is not.

The Lions of this year are not the Lions of last year.

Stop being so damn over dramatic.

I'd say the Bucs or Chiefs are worse than the Lions this year.

If we lose to either one of them then I think Zorn should be gone.

Well, we play both of those teams....one of them next week.

Do you feel confident in our chances next week?

Well do you?

As disgusted as I was watching this game today I can't see anything productive coming out of firing anyone after game 3. Ride through the season and make changes post season. In the meantime we should be sending out feelers for coaches and more importantly a true experienced general manager.
