Bowden was a shocker.
Reds Fire Managers Bowden, Boone
CINCINNATI - General manager Jim Bowden and manager Bob Boone were fired Monday by the Cincinnati Reds (news), half way through a disappointing inaugural season in their new ballpark.
They were fired shortly before a makeup game with the Philadelphia Phillies (news). Bench coach Ray Knight was appointed to run the team for the game.
