First, I'd like to thank all of the mods for their outstanding work today. 4005 members at 4:34. I understand how hard it is being a mod, and trying to monitor what people say. I've never even came close to 4005 people, so I commend each one of you. That being said, please be easy on the ban hammer. I do understand.
The reason I'm starting this thread is because I'm so overwhelmed at the different number of hate threads/confused threads, so I just decided it would probably be better to start one I could completely customize to my thoughts. It's hard to pick one thread, and vent about things when they're all so alike.
I'd love to know what the problems are with this team. Are we doomed from Snyder being a dirtball? Is it Blache? Campbell? Zorn? What is it? This is my attempt to make sense of this whole problem. Bear with me, I would love to see how dead on I am.
NUMBER ONE. Greg Blache is not the answer for us at DC. I think we would be better off with no DC, and let the players call their own plays.(sarcasm) He's not aggressive enough, and instead of glorifying our players strengths, he exploits them. LL is not a FS. He was drafted out of LSU as a SS. That's his natural position, put him there. Period. Chris Horton is NOT a SS. Put him back at FS, and see how he fares. Brian Orakpo is NOT a SAM. He's a DE. Put him there. DeAngelo Hall is NOT a #1 or #2 CB. Put him in on nickle packages like Smoot, and put Smoot at the #2. At this point, I think Smoot is better than Hall. Basically, Blache needs to adjust his scheme to his players, not his players to his scheme. It's blatantly obvious that he is KILLING Brian Orakpo's name, and career.
NUMBER TWO. Jim Zorn is not a head coach. He's a QB coach. He's never called a play or ran a team, so we bring him in and put him in a position to fail. The only reason we won 6 of the first 8 last year is because teams had ZERO game tape to study, and when they finally figured it out, we lost 6 of the last 8. Now, he's bewildered. He's afraid to play his players to their strengths, and it's going to TKO him. He's aged 5 years since he came here.
NUMBER THREE. Vinny Cerrato is NOT a GM. Granted, he's done a pretty decent job with the last two drafts, BUT... He lost us a draft pick on Jason Taylor, Adam Archuleta, Brandon Lloyd, Andre Carter (let's face it, he's not all that good), and numerous other things. He's doing a pretty decent job, but he still needs to go.
NUMBER FOUR. Daniel Snyder is the worst owner in the league. When is the last time you saw Ford Field sold out? Wasn't today, I'm also pretty sure it wasn't the last 20 game either. Why? The Lions SUCK. When was the last time you saw FedEX near capacity, or at least 70,000? EVERY WEEK. Why? Snyder cares more about money than this team. He's promoting this team, and jacking prices up to keep himself nice, but what about us? I'm seriously so sick and tired of this franchises inability to field a contender, I'm near giving up. Why does he bring these big name free agents? NOT TO WIN, TO SELL TICKETS.
Conclusion. What do we do about all of this? What are we supposed to do? There is nothing we can do, but stop buying Redskins memorabilia/paraphernelia, stop going to games, stop watching on TV. Instead of talking, lets start acting. We say we're disgusted each and every week, but what do we do? Watch the game on the TV, go to the game, fly our Redskins flags on our cars, buy the magnets, etc...We're all just as responsible for the mediocrity as the players and personnel. When Snyder stops making bank, maybe somethings will change.
Please don't ban me, I'm just frustrated like each and everyone of us.:silly:
