What he said after that is if Danny did want to make a change then he would have to bring in a new HC, OC, and QB coach. It would take 3 guys to replace Zorn.
The question I have for everyone on this board is how the hell does he have all those roles when he is not doing well in any of them????
For a 2nd year HC to think he can handle all of that is a joke. This explains why this team played today like they don't care if the HC gets fired, there was no life in that team.

Long time, no see, JB. And you're right, Zorn needs to help himself out and let the OC call some if not all the plays. He needs help componsating for our horrible o-line.

The owner hired this guys entire staff before he offered him the job. He actually made him a Coordinator and then made him the HC by default. Do you remember that? Have you EVER seen that before? This guy at the top is an absolute maniac. . . . and he's not even 40 years old. . . . and he's making a mint off of us.

I wouldn't be against letting Sherman Smith call the plays.
I mean seriously, what does he even do besides collect a paycheck?

1) we know that he is a good QB coach...
2) then we assumed that might translate into being a good OC
3) then we assumed that his personality might fit into a HC mold...
sure any of those might be true about Zorn.. the problem is that he trying to be ALL 3!!!! as i stated before last week.. its clear that he isnt good at being all 3. He needs to be bring in an another QB coach and at very least give up the play calling on game day.

I agree...Zorn needs to make some executive decisions as the head coach.
He should "fire himself" as the play-caller and focus on game management and working with the QBs. He should tell Campbell and Collins that the best player each week will play. He should tell Blache how HE believes the defense should be run. He should bench players (even popular ones) when the don't produce or have a bad attitude.
Basically, it's his head on the stake when we lose, so he might as well do whatever he can to shake things up. It can't get too much worse!

We need a Tom Coughlin type coach...someone that will fine players for not being 5 min. early type coach. I see Zorn as a big push over.

Yeah, that would be bad how? He's not getting the job done on any of those fronts. I think Zorn is a great guy but it's just not working. It's not all his fault but he's part of the problem.

Firing Zorn right now would make it nearly impossible for Snyder to hire a top-flight coach ever again.
He's already fired one coach during the season.
Does anyone know if Shanahan would insist on getting rid of Vinny the way Marty did?
That's all that really matters in our next coach.

I agree about Snyder. He is the problem in all this. He could fix it, but because his helicopter sized ego is in the way, our team has to suffer because he makes all these bad decisions. Most owners who are successful sign checks and get out of the way and wait for their camera shot on MNF. Snyder has to be out in front all the time and say "look at me. Look at what I did or look at I bought."
This guy has a Napoleon complex like nobody's business. He is so insecure that he contintually has to out do and make a mockery of this once proud franchise. What has he really ever done in business other than destroy. He hasn't really built the Redskins into anything other than ATM, which was really set up because the people in this town love the team and willing to put up with a lot.
Don't know if people are really and truly fed up with how Snyder does things, but I was glad he was in Detroit to be embarrassed and to feel that loss first hand. He is always there when the glory comes down and I was glad to see that he was getting his medicine today. He needs to know that you can't run an organization where you ignore certain positions for many years and just use stop gaps to fill the team and make it successful.
Hire a genuine football guy Mr. Snyder, get out of the way, and be happy with the glory. Otherwise do the rest of Washington a favor, sell the team and become a proud owner of seats in the club level.

Who cares if Zorn calls the plays at this point? I mean, could anyone else do any worse?
At this point we have scored a total of three offensive touchdowns. If the game announcers are accurate, two of those TDs were on hurry-up drives in which Campbell called his own plays. That means that Zorn the playcaller can be credited with today's touchdown pass to a wide-open Moss and a bunch of field goals.
I think there's a valid point to be made that firing Zorn could be detrimental to hiring another legitimate coach for next season. But Snyder has a big problem on his hands that requires some action: He's got seven more home games this season. Seven more opportunities to make some money at the stadium. Thirteen more weeks to sell merchandise at his Redskins Stores. If he doesn't do SOMETHING to quiet the fan base, it's going to be a major problem.
