That's how you break somebody's neck. Bastard should be suspended for 6 games, minimum.

I don't think it was THAT horrible. It was basically a forearm to the chest. A cheap shot, yeah, but he didn't lead with his helmet or go after the guys head/neck area.
He just tried to hit him hard when he shouldn't have, since the guy had called fair catch apparently.

He left his feet and launched into the guy with a elbow when the ball was nowhere near him.He didn't even stop to look for the ball. His intent was to seriously hurt him.The fact that the guy is not in the least bit concerned and contrite after the play says alot about him.I hope he is suspended for more than one game and fined heavily.

You must have talked to him after the game then, to know for a fact that he wanted to seriously hurt him?
Come on, when did football turn into such a pansy sport that guys can't even want to hit hard anymore?
Should he have done it? No. Was it stupid? Yes. To say he seriously wanted to hurt him is a bit excessive. As a football player, you are hardwired to hit guys hard. Sometimes, that switch just doesn't go off just because a guy waves for a fair catch (which I didn't see, actually). Sometimes instinct takes over and you just want to hit somebody.
It was an appropriate penalty, but I think the ejection was a bit knee-jerk. Again, he didn't use his helmet or go after the head/neck area. He wasn't fighting, and he didn't remove his helmet to use it as a weapon or something.
I think the refs overreacted just because of the melee that followed.

This is a strange way of putting it. The ball hadn't arrived yet, it wouldn't matter if it were a fair catch signal or not. The BALL WASNT THERE. This would like launching yourself into the QB 5 seconds after the ball was thrown and he's just standing there between plays.

I think the refs overreacted just because of the melee that followed. He hit the punt returner... a person that is completely defenseless while the ball was in their air. There is no more defenseless player on a football field. Not only should he have been ejected but his actions after the hit should bring about a 4 games suspension at least.

You sound like every blowhard sports reporter after something gets blown ridiculously out of proportion. 4 games?? Come on.
I think he was trying to time it perfectly to get there at the same time as the ball and just got there early. I didn't see a fair catch - did you?
He could have really hurt him if he wanted to, if he wanted to lead with his helmet or pop the receiver in the helmet. I think he just went 'primal' for a second and saw a guy in front of him and wanted to pop him.
The way everyone was talking about it, I thought it would be the most vicious thing I've ever seen. I really didn't think it was bad. Back in the 90s, guys like Chuck Cecil and Steve A****er would put hits on WRs just as defenseless as that and it wouldn't even warrant a penalty.
Penalty - justified. Suspension - debatable. 4 games??? Nuts. I think suspensions should be reserved for fighting.... using your helmet as a weapon... grating someones face with your cleat.. that sort of thing.

Did you watch the play... because you don't seem to know what happened. The ball wasn't anywhere near the punt returner when he got popped. He didn't get there late he got there early and was staring at the player before the hit. He also left his feet to hit him high... knowing he didn't have the ball and was looking up completely defenseless.
It was the very definition of a cheap shot.

Sorry, I meant to say early instead of late. That's what I am saying... I don't think he saw a fair catch, so he was trying to time it perfectly and give him a good pop. He just got there early. And, the ball wasn't near the receiver, but to Wesley it looked like it was. The guy was looking straight up in the air for the ball like he was about to catch it.
To me, it looked like he was trying to slow up at the last second, and him leaving his feet was a product of his momentum carrying him forward.
Cheap shot ? Yes. Intention to harm? No. 4 game suspension?? Very no.

It definitely was a cheap shot. You can't hit a player like that even if he doesn't call fair catch.
Off topic, but I completely hate it when you go to a Youtube video, and the thumbnail shows the preview of the intended video, and instead you get some random douchebag you could care less about giving their opinion. sigh.

Do you know what a chopblock is? He was blocking him 1 on 1

It looked low to me. Unless he never actually touched him, which is possible.
Although, it sure looked like there was AT LEAST as much contact here as when Brady got that PI in his favor vs. BAL.

There's nothing illegal about blocking low 1 on 1

Although, it sure looked like there was AT LEAST as much contact here as when Brady got that PI in his favor vs. BAL.In order for it to be a chop block, the def player has to be engaged with a blocker when a different player attempts to block him low. What is evident at the 36 sec mark is a cut block, where you dive at a defenders feet forcing him to pause in his pursuit in order to get around/over you. The cut block is perfectly legal as long as you come from the front (as the player in the video did). A cut block is illegal when it comes from the side or behind. Brett Farve got fined for a cut block in his first preseason game with the Vikes because he took out a player from the blind side, eliminating the players chance to protect himself.

So if it had been ANOTHER player doing that block it would've been a chop block?

So if it had been ANOTHER player doing that block it would've been a chop block? If another player was already blocking him, it would have been a chop. I personally think cut blocks should illegal as well. No need to block below the waist.
