This forum does a great job of keeping politics out of tragedy. Seriously people pat yourselves on the back or just start clapping... make sure the people in your office can see you doing this. Mouth the words "I'm awesome" if they look confused.

This thread however is to take you on a little journey. A trip into wingnut city a place that will show you the dark side of your own party. I am linking two threads from two very LARGE well known political sites that cover yesterdays massacre.

Those are the early wingnuts people. They get worse but in this day and age I don't go to any site more extreme than that.

Gotta admit DU's site seems to be easier to navigate and follow than the Free Republic site (one of the reasons I don't really lurk at Free Republic). I know that DU is full of hate filled wing-nuts and suspect that Free Republic is the opposite side of the same coin.

However, It wouldn't surprise me if a few posters here are members one of those sites. (I sometimes see arguments posted here that I've only seen on DU).

I prefer their software bang. Each argument has it's own thread. You never have to sift through 15 pages trying to see who is commenting on your post. They all tree off of the comment to which they reply.

I'm afraid to even venture to either of those two sites. I might lose all faith in humanity. Hell, I find myself wanting to bash my head through a wall from this site once in a while, so I can't even imagine what I'd do if I browsed through those sites.

Both make me laugh. DU's fighting amongst themselves after one of them says something ridiculous is funny. FR's population tends to ignore the wild comments more. All depends on the issue for me, as soon as this guy turned out to have a muslim name I was like "FR is going to go crazy" (and they did, haha)

Yep, does me too. Go there almost daily to read the theads. My favorite poster is David77 (I think that is his id), an unapolegetic hardline communist (Stalinist too). Love how his fellow posters accept his posts and bend themselves into pretzels in order to not offend him.
