That's what happens when you do the wrong thing. This NFL owner has shown in his ten years of ownership of the Redskins that he wants to run the show. All he does is fire head coaches and hire those that aren't qualified to coach(Steve Spurrier & Jim Zorn). Until Snyder hires a GM and until he learns to keep his hands out of football related operations, he'll continue to be harshly criticized.

If you look at teams that have winning seasons year in and year out, and are always in the playoffs (Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers), owners of such teams just sit up in the press box on Sundays and sign paychecks while a competent GM is running their football operation. Snyder needs to do the same.

Cashman inherited the team from Bob Watson in 1998. Since 2000 they didn't win the WS, and the Yankees measure success by the WS, not by reaching the playoffs (and they have a right to, given their history).

I think if Cashman was a better GM, Torre would still be manager and the Yankees would have had more success over the previous 8 years to this past year.

While you have to be careful comparing baseball to football because obviously the rules are different and you can't do a straight comparison, there is still merit to the high-level view of "simply throwing money into a team doesn't do it" being proven by the Redskins and Yankees over the previous 8 years.

Who did he fire? Norvola? we all agreed he got 7yrs and did nothing(though you can make a case for not doing a midseason firing) and Marty(who was asked just to give up GM duties as was Shanny and Holmgren who did better just being HC). Spurrier quit and was seen during his hire as a coup by many media types but turned out to be a non-working person....Gibbs 2.0 quit as well.

You list 3 teams as being always good.....what about Cincy, Det, AZ(minus the last year but they have had one of the worst owners ever), Atl(though a good rook QB has turned them around), Buff(who hasn't sniffed success since before Danny took over), Clev, and countless others......

not defending Danny for being brash and quick with his changes but my God people, there are other teams that haven't had success at all since or before Danny.

He made bad decisions, yes....but he hasn't been the only one nor ever will be. Sure I want Vinnie canned and Zorn canned and supposedly they are tied together with their 2yr contract to build success....lets hope its going to happen but to paint Danny as the worst owner during his tenure is just ludicrious.
