View Full Version : Remaining Schedule...

I do not enjoy being pessimistic about our chances with the rest of the season schedule but as you know things will not get any easier.
Broncos
@ Cowboys
@ Eagles
Saints
@ Raiders
Giants
Cowboys
@ San Diego
We should win the Raiders game as long as the trip out west does not effect the team. We might follow that game up with a home victory over the Giants...that would be my surprise upset.
The rest of the schedule is filled with teams that will be in the playoffs or fighting for it. We don't have the horses to run with them.
So we might be 3-4 wins on the season. We're currently the 6th worse team in the league. As long as we stay in the top/worse 7 we should have an attractive draft pick.
I now find myself rooting for Tampa, St. Louis, KC, Detroit and Cleveland to win so we can move closer to the back...really sad.

translation...second half of season is harder than the first, we still stink and probably won't win a many games.....also water is wet and Dan Snyder is not popular....:silly:

I think it's possible to win two more games, but I can't find them on the schedule. This team doesn't seem to be able to get up for a game, no matter how desperately important it is for them to do so.
I think the ONE game they might be able to rally for is the home game vs. the Cowboys.
So I'm going to say they'll win that game, then win the next week to finish off the season with two straight wins, enough to convince Snyder that Cerrato has turned things around and everything is fine and nothing needs to change. Norv Turner syndrome.

That's where I'm torn. It's really hard for me to root for the team now at this point knowing we need an infusion of draft picks to help this team. If we win games it will, like you said, vindicate the actions of Vinnie to maintain the course.
And we can't continue trying to plug the holes on this team with re-treads looking for the big payout.
IF we get a Top 5 Pick, I'd be seriously tempted to trade down for a later 1st and an additional 2nd or even 3rd pick. And I think that will be possible with this years draft because of the no-cap issue.
You are going to see a glut of amazing junior talent leave early for the draft this year. There are going to be teams that want to trade up this year for some seriously great talent.
We should start stockpiling draft picks now! And not having that 3rd round pick is really hurting. We need to recover that one with a trade.

Right now, although unlikely, if we beat Dallas once I will be content going 3-13.

I think we pull it together just a bit and win 2-3 games the rest of the way. I think we upset Denver next week, possibly beat Oakland, and win one of the two back-to-back home games at the end. Still leaves us at 4-12/5-11.

Oakland seems like our best best. Though I still think we can beat Dallas at least once.

Can we beat them in Dallas atleast? I want to ruin their first game in their stadium against us. Besides lots of Redskin fans are gonna walk out on the Fedex game from what I'm hearing anyway.

It's really a no-brainer that we should hope our team loses as many games this season as possible. The worse we do, the better the chance that we'll finally get rid of vinny/get a gm/better head coach etc. Oh yeah and picking Top 10 wouldn't be so bad either.

Why on earth would anyone call for us to beat the Raiders?

I say this team goes 2-14 because if the Raiders can take down the Eagles with the pass rush they brought that day, they're going to have a field day vs the Skins.

The Raiders are completely inept. At that point in the season all the wheels to that bus will have not only fallen off but the fans have lit fires to the tires and pawned the rims in hopes of buying the team away from Al Davis.
They are the last remaining team on the schedule at the bottom 10 of the NFL. Their O has only scored 78 points and their D has given up 201.
Our situation is bad but not that bad.

The only games we could win are the Raider game and maybe the San Diego game if they rest their starters.
I am still sticking with 2-14.

I don't understand why so many people think this team will beat Oakland at Oakland. The Raiders are a better team, and we have to play them in California. Just because the Raiders are the easiest game of the remaining eight doesn't mean we have even an even chance winning.
Our only chance at winning a game is the "any given Sunday" idea. So it could be anybody. We might sneak a win. Maybe two, but I doubt it.
The good news is, regardless of how bad we are, we always have a chance to beat Dallas. :)

At this point, that would make this season for me. (Well that, plus a complete turnaround in our owner's philosophy) ;)
Just beat Dallas. Preferably twice, but at least once. And that's just my wish, not what I actually expect at this point, so no need to bash. Then again, we DO play them in December so ..... :)

As much as I hate to say this....there is no way we beat dallas. Not here or in there house. I don't even think we beat oakland. If we can't stop the pass rush, we are nothing. Campbell isn't good enough to pick up on the blitz and make a quick read.
I think we are heading down the 2-14 road on cruise control

its one thing if they were playing "good" and losing, then maybe they would have a chance to turn things around, but, they are, have been, and will continue to play poorly, because they just aint that good, they have no heart, no will to win..2 games at the most they will win..why? because even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and then

With the current team/mentality, I agree 100% with this post. The 'any given Sunday' pops up every now and then, so the Skins certainly could have one of those games where everything goes right for them and wrong for the opponent, but I doubt it.
My only hope is that if the team loses its next 2 or 3 games, the coaches change the offensive personnel - play TC (too bad Colt is on IR - I know, another thread), Marko, Mason, etc. Let these young guys show what they can do - it can't be worse. Maybe these guys could get a win or two, but again, I'm not really hopeful.
At the end of the day, 4-12 is the best I think we can hope to be.
