The safety shuffle

By John Pappas

The Redskins announced Chris Horton going to injured reserved today, with surgery scheduled for 3 p.m. on his toe. This means Horton will miss the rest of this year with a four-to-six month rehab.

So what does this mean for the NFL’s sixth-ranked defense?

Probably not a lot, although it does remove flexibility at the position.

No offense, but that article didn't say anything we didn't already know.

I don't want Smoot at Safety. He will break into 2 pieces on his first contact

Reed Doughty will replace him...

Can we see more of Kareem Moore (with a possible benching of Landry)?

How about Kareem Moore at FS and Landry at SS. He's got too much of a wreckless approach for FS, I think Landry's perfect to play SS. You know, the position he was drafted to play.

Wow, someone in the Redskins secondary being blasted for poor tackling...that is so uncommon.

Landry for SS; I don't give a flyin' flip who gets FS, but place Landry back where he can be effective AGAIN.

The Captain of the Defense, Fletcher, will get Landry back effective again; but what are we going to do about the coaching?

(now my post doesn't suprise ya, now does it JJ :) )

If you ask me a Horton is only a guy who made some picks as a low drafted rookie last year.He is nothing more than a low average S.Landry on SS,Moore on FS.

I'm tired of hearing about people calling for Landry to be moved back to the "position he was drafted for." How is that going to change the fact that he misses tackles, only goes for the big hit and misses more often than not, is a total headcase and waste of incredible physical talent, and costs his team more in bonehead plays tenfold more than he makes good ones? Flat out--he sucks. Crap attitude, yet quick to strike a pose when he finally makes a play--while down 14 points on the scoreboard. He is a poster boy for why this team is terrible and does not live up to potential.
