Gilbert Arenas Officially Joins Wizards
WASHINGTON - Gilbert Arenas officially joined the Washington Wizards (news) on Friday after the deadline passed for the Golden State Warriors (news) to match his offer sheet.
The Wizards signed Arenas to a six-year, $65 million deal on July 22. The Warriors had 15 days to match the offer because Arenas was a restricted free agent, but they couldn't because of salary cap constraints.
The Warriors have since signed Speedy Claxton to play point guard.
Arenas was selected as the NBA's Most Improved Player last season after averaging 18.3 points, 6.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds. The 21-year-old point guard was a second-round pick by Golden State in the 2001 draft.

that would be a sight... Wizards playing hard... being wizards their probably preoccupation with herbs, potions, and pixie dust can certainly alter perceptions. Actually, I very much like Blake and Dixon... but the question is do they have the power to help recast the Wizards into something magical.

Well I'll tell you one thing, I have more faith in this regime turning this team into a winner than MJ's regime.

If I was Stephen A. Smith I'd be ranting and raving about how right my predictions are. Honestly, Arenas and Grunfield turning this franchise around seemed like a no-brainer to me. Don't know why, it just felt right.
