This is interesting. Some guy picks out the helmets he thinks are the worst and redesigns them, with the Skins among his worst. I'd be curious to see what everyone thought. I still like out current helmet better, but I don't think this is the worst I've ever seen. I like the Bucs redesign.

His Skins redesign is terrible, and the Pats redesign is absolutely hideous, as was already said, it looks like something from American Gladiators. The Bucs one is pretty cool IMHO. I tried to read the whole thought process behind it, but don't get it at all. It doesn't look like a headdress or any thing of the sort. It doesn't make me think american indian and the deep black outlines throw everything off.

Interesting article and approach, really, but they failed to really approach these helmets from the fan/viewers standpoint. It seems as if they just approached it from that half angle viewpoint and then copped out with cheese graphics.

Tough to say. Except for a temporary small "tweak",that lasted maybe a season(if I have read things right),the current design has been around since 1972 to 1973. Considering how other teams have changed things around over the years,it could be one of the older ones.

The pats helmet looks like a motorcycle helmet designed in the 1970s. Their idea for ours looks horrible. I like our logo, but would like it better as a deeper brugundy like we used to have and eliminate the stripes at the top.

That redesign is really bland and weak, it's far too derivative of the Eagles and therefore lacks any sort of identity with the team. I really hope and pray that IF they ever decide to redesign the current helmet (which I personally like, although I can see how it could cause offence) then I hope they don't employ this clown to do it.

The Bucs one is okay, but the Jolly Roger is pretty cliche for a pirate theme, and it's no real improvement over the existing one.

The Redskins logo is fine as is. I think it's one of the better logos in the league plus they won their superbowls with that logo. Stick with tradition, don't go with the arena league look and new isn't always better. The Redskins, Raiders and Packers should never change their logo - they are iconic.

Case in point: I know they relocated but the Titans logo is crap compared to the Oilers' oil derrick.

I know this has already been said, but the guy lost me when he declared the Bengals the best looking helmet. Ever since I was a small child watching football with glassy eyes, I've found the Bengals helmets to be ridiculous. The design and colors are just...tacky.

That said: The guy just falls off the fail cliff after that, and hit every ledge on the way down. I cannot believe that any rational, thinking being in their right mind would ever consider that Patriots helmet design to be anything less than absolutely, inexcusably horrendous. Not to mention tacky.

And those things he calls feathers on the 'skins helmet look like indecipherable blobs of nothing close to anything designed to be ascetically pleasing or make any semblance of sense whatsoever.

And then he went the daring route and removed Tampa's flag and blew up the skull? And set it off center favoring the back and bottom of the helmet? And he finds these things to be improvements?

The whole thing is such fail that fail cannot being to describe the amount fail that fail of a failure fails.

I like all these better than the current model. We'll surely keep it, and that's cool, but I wish they would go back to the 82 feather curl graphic. That's when the good times got re-started. Might be some good karma.
