View Full Version : ENJOY, one of those rare perfect NFL Sundays

It's seems like eons since the last time everything went right for Skins fans.

Redskins score over twenty, and win by double digits, after a Rocky start shutting out the Broncos in the second half, plus tons of big hits, and a gadget play that worked :)

Then Philly loses to of all teams, Norv's Chargers! :hysterical:

Followed by the Packers humbling the Pokes, with a near shutout.

And a personal "icing on the cake" the Colts came from behind to beat Brady and the Pats, after Captain Arrogant, out smarts himself calling a 4th down play inside his own 30, down by only 6, and 2 minutes left. :evilg:

Sit back and savor one of those very rare days when the planets align just right in the NFC East

Amen to that. What a rare weekend. But one to enjoy. :cloud9:

And like you said, the icing on the cake came when I woke up expecting to see a Colts loss, and low and behold, I found Belichick's sad face on NFL.com.

Get a reality check everyone ... the Skins have no secondary. Any team with a decent QB will pick the Skins apart. Look at the Schedule ... there are no more rookie coaches or easy teams insight (except perhaps Raiders ... but Skins never beat them). Skins won yesterday because they knocked Orton out and used a gadget play. With Campbell they still have trouble scoring. They won't sneak up on any team again. The Skins will be lucky to win 1 or 2 more games, at best.

Damn dude, who pissed in your cornflakes?

Let us savor this win for a few days Mr. Negative Nancy.........Skins played excellent (relative to games past), and have some needed momentum to crush the pukes in Jerryworld.

The reality Doc? Is yesterday was a good day of football for the Fans of the Redskins. It was also my son's birthday and we had a fabulous time, great company, killer ribs and great weather.

Yes the Redskins are not what they need to be, but your boy Betts came out with fire and passion. Carpe diem or Carpet the Den, it won't kill ya. :D

I thought that going into this game the Skins were rated #1 in pass defense? Isnt that "secondary"?

Yea Dude ... I haven't been a happy Skins' Fan since '91. Enjoy your delusional stupor! Skins need a radical makeover ... and a funky win over an over-rated team giving the Campbell lovers some fresh oxygen ... won't change tht reality. But my boy Betts did shine ... didn't he? The new running back combo ... and retooled OLine are great ... but the Skins still need an NFL QB.

Misleading stat ... other teams are able to run on Skins at will especially at edge cause corners can't tackle ... Moreno was made to look like Barry Sanders yesterday.

Nancy, most of the other boyz realized we won yesterday and most took the day off from bashing.

What happened to you?

Those guys played a great, inspired game yesterday. I enjoyed it very much and won't even put a "but" in there.

It did seem like a few things worked much better than in weeks past. Still need to draft LT, but Jones did pretty well. I noticed much more effect with Yoder as a lead blocker at times than Sellers. The Betts TD was all Yoder. Just wish the Defense would go into a game as well as they finish.

Same here. I chose New England in pick'em, but BB just had to go for it.:(

At least everything went well in the AFC North. Steelers lost, Polomalu went down, Benson went down, and the Steelers lost! :)

Now if this game goes according to plan, this will be a pretty good weekend for me too.

I know what you're saying GP... you're just telling everyone to not get used to it and I agree with you for the most part. We'll probably win a few more games but we're not making any type of run or anything. At the same time though, everyone's just trying to enjoy the win for a few days before we get back down to the reality of our team.

I agree with this -- why not enjoy a great victory? It's not like the Broncos are the Rams or Tampa -- its a good win over a good team.

Funny, they win, score some points, Jason Campbell has a good completion rate against one of the top rated defenses in the league -- but things have to be gloomy for some of the JC detractors.

Yes, Jason Campbell again didn't have a 100% completion rate, he missed some passes. He is the only QB in the league who misses passes. Just about every QB in the league, misses no one, incompletions come on -- does Tom Brady ever miss a WR in any game, of course not. Every Brady pass is perfect.

JC is the one straggler in the NFL who has errant throws and misses some open receivers. Until, he has a 100% completion rate and scores 40 points plus, why should he be given a pass?

what's unreal is a alleged Redskin fan who can't enjoy a good victory, instead wants to criticize those who do

get a freaking life, and turn off the agenda machine for a moment.

No one implied anything other than for one day, instead of having to sit through misery, we got to enjoy a rare (look up the meaning) Victory over a winning team, and our rivals lost.

no allusions were made as to what would happen in the future, no comments saying all our problems were solved,... etc. We could go winless the rest of the season, but that doesn't change the fact that yesterday was a good day for Redskins fans to enjoy.

The stupid part of your attempts to ake everyone "get real" was if you actually read the op, the word "rare" suggest something like a good win doesn't happen often... one would say the term was being "realistic" about the Skins chances of having more future good wins, and our rivals losing. Also the word Savor, (definition: To appreciate fully; enjoy or relish: I want to savor this great moment of accomplishment.)
. Hardly terms a "homer" would use after 1 win... because it implies that this feeling of winning isn't gonna happen much in the future....

but per your usual shtick, any hint of perceived optimism, you try to rain on the parade, and attempt to hijack the thread with the same old hater bull ****.

as I said before your act has grown tiresome.

I havent spent much time in the stadium this season because of gloomers like Greggpeck. It's bad enough to watch our beloved team fail multiple times, but then jokers compounding it by trashing a glimmer of positivity makes it literally unbearable.

Campbell is getting a pass for whatever reason ... a funky win like yesterday delays the inevitable. Campbell is inconsistent and lacks production ... he will never be better than he is ... and that is not good enough in the NFL. A win like yesterday's obscures this reality.

OK if so, why should that deter people's enjoyment of a game? I don't agree that JC had a bad game but I'll play along -- it would be like me watching my favorite baseball team win a game, and say look I can't enjoy the win, because the player I want my team to dump went 1-5 and I am desperate to see him go.

Some people don't like JC, and I get that. But if they can't enjoy a win because they don't like one of the players on the team, then isn't the dislike of that player getting a bit irrational?

Dude, there is a good chance the player you seem to despise is gone in the off season if that's the be all and end all for you, so why stew in misery?

Good post by Bubba

I love Sundays like that... ones when things go our way for the most part... Sure seems like most of our Sundays (and any other day when the Skins play lately) are filled with disappointment. Makes you really wonder what it must be like to be a fan of a quality and consistent team. A Colts fan... A Steelers fan... they have it made. Only thing we have to look forward to most years is our offseason. I, like most of you all will continue to back the Skins... in the hopes that some day there will be a Sunday when things all seem to go right and is not filled with disappointment and a fan of another team actually says how lucky Redskins fans are.
