I think the Skins d-line gets after the banged up Cowboys o-line and wreak havoc all day long. They'll cause a few turnovers and sack Romo 3-4 times. Betts will have another good game because Portis can't go and Campbell has a decent game against Dallas as he pretty much always does. It'll be close as always and I really think the Skins can sneak outta Dallas with a W.

...and it is starting to get pretty late in November for Romo. On the other hand, if they ever figure out how good of a running team that they are then they will pretty much kill the Skins.

I'm not trying to be a hater here. I just don't see the ball bouncing our way on Sunday. I think Dallas tipped passes will hit the ground. Fumbles will go out of bounds, etc.

I don't have a good karma feel for it.

The good thing about this game is that we have nothing to lose. Dallas does. They're gonna try to stay atop the division. The pressure's on them to win, and we alllll know how they are when they have pressure..

To me the big elephant in the room is how we will handle the secondarys assignments this week.

Ever since DeSean Jackson tore out secondary a new one on Monday night, it seems like every team is completing at least 2 long bombs, in which the WR is wide open all by themselves.

Also, our offense is not even close to being able to be relied on to score 30 points, so this game is really going to be up to our defense being able to get pressure on Romo consistently.

Andre Carter, Orakpo need to be crashing like lighting from the ends, while Haynesworth moves the pocket backwards, not allowing Romo to step up in the pocket.

Unfortunately I think this will be a game where the Skins play a tight content for two and a half quarters but it gets away from them once the defense gets tired from having to be on the field for so long.

27-13 Cowboys :(

They will get *at least* 2 tds on big plays due to our secondary being awful. Think about it, it's happened in our past 3 games. Our offense will put together one good drive for a td. Our d will get one good field position turnover which we will get a field goal on.

MartinC
November-17th-2009, 11:19 AM
I think it depends on which Dallas offense turns up. If they play like they did against Green Bay - and I think our defense can put the same kind of pressure on as Green Bay did - then its a game we could win.

I expect though that they will come out and establish the run and take some pressure off Romo and allow him to take some shots to see if they can get our secondary biting on double moves. If they can keep Romo clean they will beat us.

Our offense might have got a bit more confidence against Denver but Dallas have a better front 7 than Denver IMO. Campbell is going to have to be much more accurate than he was against Denver for us to have a good shot at winning.

I hope I'm wrong but I see 24 - 17 to Dallas

If last weeks team shows up, we definitely have a shot.

If not, it'll be an embarrassing blowout of epic proportions.

Santana "The Cowboy Killa" Moss scores 1. Another called back for holding.
But no worry "The Wild Child" gets one instead.
I see 2 rushing TD's, but not from Betts. Rock? Campbell? Or maybe one, is the Wild Child's, on a reverse.
A safety.
A field goal.

So, 26-17 Skins

Why do people see Dallas putting up so many points on our defense?

Might have something to do with seeing what Kyle Orton did to our defense before he left at halftime.

Sadly, think we see a return to normalcy around here come Sunday, especially with Dallas needing to win this game after their embarrassing loss to Green Bay.

That was all on our defense, it's not like Kyle was throwing into tight coverages and making fantastic plays. Most QB's could make those plays. Take away those two big plays, and he didn't do anything special. Plus Kyle Orton protects the ball a lot better than Romo does.

I think this sets up as a big-time L for the Skins. We just ended a 4-game losing streak, Dallas just got beat down, etc.

The injury to Colombo may prove significant but then again we might be without Big Al.

In any event, while I was heartened somewhat by the offense moving the ball Sunday, I am a bit concerned about the defense. The Falcons moved the ball on us effectively and so did the Broncos while Orton was in the game. I see the game being somewhat close throughout but also Romo having a good day and, in the end, the Skins falling a bit short.

Orton getting hurt was a blessing to our Skins. If he had stayed in it would have been a loss for us. I have no doubt of that . None at all.

Put Romo out, or make him extremely ineffective then its possible to see a win. I don't trust our secondary at all. Not a drop. Austin will have at least one or two big plays against this inept secondary.

The problem is they KEEP making these mental mistakes week after week. If they would just get on the same page, and 1 can jump the route while the other covers deep, it would be to their benefit, but trying to make a play and blowing coverage is one in the same, especially when it costs 6 points...

If our running game is stopped:
As much as I want to kill Dallas, they will stack the box and shut down our run, forcing JC to win this game. Guess what? He can't! How can a QB who can't even hit a wide open receiver behond 15 yards win a game?

If we do get our running game on: Dallas is in trouble, and Jason can continue to throw his mighty 5 yard hitches and checkdowns. When it's time to bomb Dallas, bring in our best QB Hunter Smith lol.

It depends on what our defense does first and foremost. Cover 2 corner cushion? Miles is going to kill us deep. Tight man, we can win this game. Just like we did last year. Tight man FROM THE START on Romo's baby blanket Whitten, and tight man on the wideouts. One safety over the top. Doing that imploded Dallas last year. Blache is generally so soft in his coverages early on we should expect to be down 10 or 14 in the first quarter. I really wish he would "risk it" and play tight man on an opening drive and force a 3 and out. Sigh.

The key to this game will be the running game. The Skins will be able to get to Romo, and at times a j.v. jr.high defensive line could get to Campbell. Which teams combo of backs can produce solid yardage on first and second downs. Can't pick Dallas over the Skins plus wouldn't be nice for the Skins to have their first game in the Monstrosity Stadium be a victory like the last one in the old stadium was. It will be close though.

Yup. My favorite team is also one of the most mentally weak teams in professional sports (the 1st being the Dallas Mavericks/Dirk Nowitski). They'll use just about any excuse to take the week off.

They'll look at a Washington team with a poor record and think that they can take the week off (See Green Bay game). Combine that with the fact that we finally started to get injured and you have a Dallas recipe for disaster.

Your defense is excellent and I think that they can disrupt our potentially-potent offense. If our Defense doesn't cover the slack we could be in trouble.

And that's why I think that we'll lose.

You right on with your assessment of the run. They will run sweeps, stretch plays and tosses to the right exploiting the immobility of Phillip Daniels and they will have a big rushing day especially early on. This will effect our entire defense and qb pressure. If Romo has time in the pocket, he will shred our secondary. It pisses me off watching their paste face owner walk onto the sidelines like he's the President of the U.S.

Hopefully RAK will have a huge impact, but without Big Al taking double and triple teams, the Cowboys might not even miss a beat with their wounded o-line. Jason Campbell better have the game of his life in order to beat them now.

Team Dr should shoot up Big Al with novacaine and gun powder, then turn him loose on Romo. I don't wish any serious injury to any player, but never hurts to watch Romo get steam rolled and blow snot bubbles for an hour.

What sickens me is that after winning against a reeling AFC West team (who lost their only viable QB during the game) there are a lot of people thinking playoffs. What makes me even sicker is that the owner will think that they are only "one or two players away" and keep everything like it is. Maybe fans want that to happen, and will make threads outlining Vinny's "greatness" because the Minister of Propaganda Larry Michael said so, but not this fan.

We need to get sick before we get better.
