The original thread can be found here: http://extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=307499

As usual, if I left someone off that you feel is deserving, please don't be afraid to vote for "other" and leave a post in this thread about who you want to vote for.

Another note: Players can make the team at more than one position. We will end this thing with 53 DIFFERENT players on the roster, so if a player makes it for two positions (or more) we will have a poll based on the top vote getters to re-vote on and see who gets the "wild card" spots.

CHOOSE TWO!!!

1950-1953 Paul Lipscomb
-4 seasons (5, but the fifth was one game and he didn't play in it)
-0 starts (not sure if this is at all accurate)
-2 interceptions
-6 fumble recoveries
-Pro Bowler in 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953

1959-1964 Bob Toneff
-6 seasons
-38 starts
-9 fumble recoveries
-No sack/tackle stats available
-Pro Bowler in 1959, 1960, 1961

1961-1969 Joe Rutgens
-9 seasons
-68 starts
-6 fumble recoveries
-No sack/tackle stats available
-Pro Bowler in 1963, 1965
-Spent his entire career as a Washington Redskin

1970-1977 Bill Brundige
-8 seasons
-74 starts
-5 fumble recoveries
-No sack/tackle stats available
-Spent his entire career as a Washington Redskin

1971-1980 Diron Talbert
-10 seasons
-130 starts
-8 fumble recoveries
-No Sack/Tackle numbers available
-Pro Bowler in 1973

1975-1988 Dave Butz
-14 seasons
-178 starts
-35.5 sacks (stat was only recorded in 7 of his 14 seasons)
-2 interceptions
-7 fumble recoveries
-No tackle numbers available
-Pro Bowler in 1983
-ALL PRO in 1983

1981-1990 Darryl Grant

1998-2002 Dan Wilkinson
-5 seasons
-75 starts
-23 sacks
-4 interceptions
-2 fumble recoveries
-107 tackles, 31 assists

My finger was on the vote button for Tim Johnson and Diron Talbert AND Joe Rutgens to complement Mr. Butz, but in the end I went with Darryl Grant.

This could be an interesting vote :)

after Butz, this is kinda hard. I voted Talbert. Impressive bio of Lipscomb, but he only played four years....and I never saw him play.

Dave Butz is my all-time favorite Redskin. When I first started following the Redskins, who couldn't love a player with the last name Butz!

For the record, we're slated to keep four DTs. If the fourth were to make the team with under 5 votes, we're only going to take 3 DTs and leave the rest up to the wild card

Vote Stubbelfield!!!

In all seriousness though, Diron Talbert is the pick besides Butz...

In this week of all weeks, I was SO tempted to vote for Grant, but bigger picture, Talbert got the nod, but boy that wasn't easy.

That absolute BEAST of a man, let alone DE/DT Dave Butz should win this by a Country mile.

I voted for Big Al. Please don't hate me.

In a few years, Al will probably be tops on this list right behind Mr. Butz :).

Hey man, it's down to individual choice and opinion, and NO vote is a wrong vote. (Even if some through this roster building fun we're having seem a little more extreme than others.).

Here's hoping Big Al has even half as good a Reskins career as some of the B&G greats we've had at the position.

Hail.

All of these people voting for "Other" and not telling us who the "other" is, your vote does not count. Of the 4 current "Other" votes, one has said Albert Haynesworth. The rest do not count.

Other for Big Al and I vote for Butz too. I know Big Al is a premature vote but we've already seen how much better our line is playing thanks to him and as long as he's healthy he's going to make some waves in the next few years.

Dave Butz and Daryl Grant were my two hair trigger choices, but I would say that Tim Johnson was a beast for us as well. I also really like Griffin as well.

So far Haynesworth has 2 "Other" votes.

Butz and Talbert. Brundige was close, but at the time I always thought of Diron as just a bit better.

KDawg - are there some ninja votes here? I noticed 5 others, but only 3 of those votes come from registered members.

Looks like it. I'm going to let them count until we get some really odd numbers.

I don't have time to take out all of the ninja votes, but it's obvious if someone's total is dominated by other votes.

Daryl Gardener was pretty effective too. I think he should get a nod.

Good vote, Chump. I semi-forgot about him, but you're right.

Other votes thus far:
Haynesworth: 2
Gardener: 1

Tough one but I can't break up the stud tandem of my youth.

Butz and Grant together again.:D

Butz and Grant. :)

I had to go with Butz and Talbert. Talbert hated the Cowboys and always had his best games against them. He probably had one of the greatest games at defensive tackle that I have ever seen. He was freaking all over the place and a man possessed.

I picked Butz and Talbert. No one could run on us with those two.

No one here (except Butz) really stood out with me, so I just chose the two with the Super Bowl rings. Almost went with Big Al, but it's way too early in his tenure to predict his impact.

I went with Grant because of that INT vs. Dallas. Yeah, big plays in huge rivalry games hold that kind of sway.

Unfortunately I voted for Wilkinson because I somehow overlooked Butz. I offer no excuse for my stupidity in that regard

One thing that's sticking out to me is how Tim Johnson got the short end of the stick... big time... on this one.
