I hope Fletcher wins something. He deserves some type of recognition for all he does!

I think that could make up for a Pro Bowl snub. Granted it's more about off-field than on-field performance.

9 time Pro Bowl alternate...that's INSANE. This guy is a beast. Hopefully, with a playoff season next year, we can get him to the Pro Bowl as the crowning achievement to a stellar career.

This is bigger than the Pro Bowl. This says tons about him as a man and a human being. He should amazingly proud to be one of the three finalists.

Nice. I've never met the man but always got the impression that he is a great guy. I think this confirms my suspicions.

It was news to me, and I haven't seen anyone mention it here on the forums. This would be a perfect award for Fletch, and one that he is not an alternate in haha. He is very deserving of this and is one of the most professional players I know of that play in the NFL.

Fletcher, Furrey, Waters named Man of the Year finalists
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2010 5:08 PM ET
Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2302), Cleveland Browns receiver/defensive back Mike Furrey (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=411) and Kansas City Chiefs guard Brian Waters (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1371) have been named the finalists for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
The Man of the Year award goes to a player who combines excellence on the field with community service off the field. The league began the award in 1970 and named it for Walter Payton (who won the award in 1977) shortly after his death in 1999. Last year's winner was Kurt Warner (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1256).
This year's winner will be announced on Super Bowl Sunday, and all three finalists will be honored during Super Bowl week.
