Now it’s Clinton vs. LaVar

About the only thing more tiring than the endless storm suffocating Washington is Clinton Portis versus a series of foes.

Clinton swears he’s just telling the truth. It has been nonstop the last year. Mike Sellers, Brian Mitchell, Jim Zorn, Jason Campbell, LaVar Arrington and probably a couple more I’ve forgotten.

If Clinton is really unaware of what he’s doing, we have some advice. The same advice as if he’s purposely starting wars all the time – shut up. Just shut up already.

JImmiJO, I thought that was one of your not so finer moments, sorry. I don't see alot of substance there, and I know, subscribe, subscribe. But hey if your going to post it, accept the critique.

Good piece.

It would be one thing if Portis was a stud like Chris Johnson.

He isn't. He averaged 60 ypg last season when he was healthy.

Anyone can do that. He is easily replaced.

Shanahan must be ready to throw up by now, wondering why this guy would possibly be worth the hassle.

Don't shoot me, I didn't write it. But it is free to read.

Clinton can't handle the fact that he is getting old and phased out of the NFL. He can't handle the fact that he is no longer a star, and attention isn't coming his way for his play on the field, so he has to create attention by acting like T.O. ....It's kinda like the way we explain away younger kids bad behavior, bad attention is better than no attention at all.

As I said in the other thread on this subject....

Portis needs to shut his pie hole. Just shut it. Zip it. Zzzzzzzzzip it.

Portis has never called out JC,he was actually trying to defend him...please go back and listen to the interview,Doc Walker took it in on JC,not CP...Portis does need to know that you can not fight every battle a win, even when you are correct.Though each comment from CP has been 100%truth,he has to realize he is a mark man.Fans\Media, are wating for Portis to say anything....i mean anything,so they can spin the story into a negative one. example, lets say a reporter asked"Clinton how did you lose to Dallas this year?" CP says"it came down to us missing two key fieldgoals" if anyone else in the world said the same thing as CP,everyone would agree and move on,but with CP, it would be fans/media" making non issues,a issue.Ppl will say stuff like"CP just threw Shuisham, and Danny Smith, under a bus"smh..As far as Mike Sellers,i would have love to see MS play with a Jordan,Shaq,Kobe,D Wade,Brady,Manning, ect. All the above have ripped fellow teamates and coaches live during games,in the press, and practices

Clinton Portis throws everyone under the bus including his QB who put it all on the line....
Lavar Arrington closes his sports bar without informing employees and doesn't pay them during the Christmas holidays
............I shake my head at both of them CLASSLESS

Please keep politics out of the Stadium. One innocuous comment can hijack a thread and lead to a series of bans.

I completely agree with your premise though. It's like Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber getting into a spitting match.

Every time I hear LaVar act as though he's an authority on something, I keep thinking... This is the guy who couldn't get along with Gregg Williams, Joe Gibbs and Marvin Lewis. He got into a spitting match with the team over his contract situation, even though he acknowledged at the time that he signed the contract and fired his agent because it was a bad contract.

The guy made some great plays, had freakish athletic ability, and didn't come anywhere close to living up to his potential because he was a head case and a dumb ass.

A always thought the best place for LaVar to have ended up for LaVar wasn't NY, it would have been Baltimore. Because Ray Lewis would have put a pole so far up his ass to keep him straight it would have hit his scull. And with his size and speed, he could have been ferocious in that D. But he needed a RL type to set him straight. And never had it in Washington.

explain how CP threw JC under a bus,but Cooley didnt? Cooley was asked by a reporter"who are the leaders on your team"Cooley responded to the question with"we have none" Jason Campbell is no leader" in CP situation he was trying to defend Jason actually, from Doc Walkers comments. It all started because CP was asked about the lockeroom thang.Cp responded to the quest"Me,if I have a problem with a player,or a coach,i will say it,you won't have to guess who said what"Doc loved CP response so much, that he went on to say"see this is the problem, why dont you have that C on your jersey my man?why arent you the captain, instead of JC? We all know he will never call out a player,We all have seen that with JC,and Zorn this season.CP responded back with"JC is not a rah, rah,up in your face leader,no one on this team is,besides me,London Fletcher, and maybe somone else(Big Al),thats it.so you tell me who threw Jc under a bus

The one thing Shanny was good at was finding RBs. Shanny can find a starting RB in this years draft in the 7th round. Let Clinton end his career elsewhere.

This has been cleared up by both Clinton and Campbell several times already. But it's easier to pretend that Clinton threw him under the bus, since it supports their agenda that he's a jerk.

It's the only time you'll ever see a Hater defend Campbell.

everyback Shanny has tried to replace CP with, have been bust! they say this was a part of the reason Shanny got fired from Den..all those rb were bust.

T.Henry-out of the nfl
Maurice Clarett-cut,and never played a down in the nfl
Mike Bell- cut(now with NO )
Tatum Bell-not in the nfl
Quinton Griffin-bust,no longer in the Nfl
Ruben D. cut does he still play for the Browns? dont know if he still plays or not
Everyback so far have been bust, dosent matter if they were drafted,or was a free agent signing...end result is.....no longervin the NFL

Players who are in danger of not being on the team next year and who make a boat load of money should be doing the following things:

1) Saying the right things or, at minimum, keeping their mouths shut.

2) Working their asses off in the offseason.

CP does the opposite. I'm all in favor of him entertaining me until he gets cut, just so long as he does get cut.

I am sure if CP stays you will jump back on his sack, just like the rest of the Skins fans..thats what we do as fans.If CP does good you will probably say somthing like"see when he practices he is beast" or "with Shanny,Portis is a beast"85% of most Redskins fans have Haters amnesia.Cooley just said it the other day! "all this time here(DC) i was a fan fav,now i get hurt, and fans are like we need olinemen, trade Cooley?"I was like wtf,i want to finish my career here on Dc,I love being a Redskin".even Cooley has read fans post on sites like this one,and have spotted the every year hypocrisy from Skins fans

Very true - The reason is because Shanny's OL coach left for Atlanta, and the NFL outlawed the chop block. These factors ended the era of Denver's system backs.

Please get rid of this clown. I've HAD it with Clinton Portis. He's a second tier back now anyway. And that might be generous.

I would just like to point out how LaVar made it clear how great it was to have Deion Sanders there. I know a lot of people hated Deion because he was a Cowgurl before he came to D.C., but he was one of the best if not best cover-guy in the history of the game. He didn't tackle. True. He did however scare the crap out of every QB that played against him...and I would also like to point out that that was quite possibly the best ensemble of DB's ever on one team.

Darrell Green ~ Champ Bailey ~ Deion Sanders

And as badly as everything has been run over the past decade, when Deion says that he didn't want to leave D.C. because of the team and the chemistry they had, but that the FO and Snyder made it unbearable for him to stay another year, I believe him. Just listen to him whenever people mention the Skins, and he'll talk about the affinity he had for the team he was on...Deion may have been a Cowgurl, but when he was in D.C. he was a Redskin.

This war of words is getting old so I thought I would point out something positive, albeit there's not much to chose from, about the Skins from the past decade.

Hail
