According to James Brown's daughter, the body of the Godfather of Soul has, well, vanished

Speaking to Bang Showbiz, LaRhonda Pettit recently said she'd like to look into his cause of death and have an autopsy--but he has somehow "disappeared."

"My daddy's body has disappeared. I have no clue where it was taken, but I need to know where," she said.

It's understood Brown's remains were in the custody of his daughter Deanna in South Carolina while the family constructed a mausoleum open to the public. But Pettit wants answers before then.

Petti, who underwent a DNA test three years ago which all but confirmed James Brown was indeed her father, insists something's off about Brown's untimely death on Christmas Day, 2006.

"I'm convinced his death was suspicious and I want the people responsible brought to justice. The only way to do that is to exhume his body and have an autopsy. I cannot understand why one was never conducted."

Perhaps the family would like Pettit's comments--and the rest of Brown's "illegitimate" children--to disappear as well. But does she have a point?

James Brown Body Snatching All A Hoax?

RTTNews) - Rumors reporting that the body of late soul star James Brown went missing late last week have been revealed as false by the funeral director who managed his burial.

Charlie Reid, of the of the C.A. Reid Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia, said that the Brown's body is still entombed at a mausoleum at the home of one of his daughters in South Carolina.

Late last week, LaRhonda Pettit, who claims to be the Godfather of Soul's illegitimate daughter, alleged that his body was stolen.

"There's no truth to that," Reid told the Augusta Chronicle. "It would have had to have gone through us. We would have been contacted if that happened."

Reid continued to explain that moving Brown's body "would be a criminal offense," and "if this was the case, she would need to talk to police."

Lawyers for Brown's other daughters say that the body is at the crypt in South Carolina.

Pettit - who has long been suspicious that the listed cause of Brown's death, pneumonia, is wrong - said that the body was stolen so that an autopsy to prove the cause of death couldn't be performed.

While I have mad respect for James Brown and everything he accomplished I always laugh when I think about this

In September 1988, Brown, high on PCP and carrying a shotgun, entered an insurance seminar next to his Augusta office. Police said he asked seminar participants if they were using his private restroom.

Police chased Brown for a half-hour from Augusta into South Carolina and back to Georgia. The chase ended when police shot out the tires of his truck.
