My daughter received a 108% on a recent Social Studies project. 108%?!? How's that possible?!?
Well the 100% was all her but that extra 8% comes from a very kind ES member, keeastman.
As most of you know she is in Madagascar for the time being. My daughters project happened to be on Madagascar. With a quick note and a plea for some "inside" pictures the ball was rolling.
In a matter of no time my daughter had a slew of pictures taken by Katie emailed to her. For the extra effort put forth by everyone involved she was awarded the extra 8%.
Katie, thank you. I know the internet connection is spotty and you have your own agenda over there but you took the time to help my daughter and for that I am grateful.
Now this isnt the 1st act of generosity I have been witness to here. Just the latest. Larry, I'm still using that camera. :)
Anyone else wanna share??

This is why I love ES. (Katie, I didn't know you were in Madagascar, but I'm sure you're making worlds of difference there - and even with kids back home. I bet your photos meant a lot to Kaos's kid. Keep up the great work.)
Projects like that are worth 108%, IMHO. They go way above and beyond the substance of normal reports. To include actual on-site experiences is, well, just cool, and I would hope her teacher would appreciate them as such.

Let's see:
Capt. Rich drove me up to the DDP last year...
Several people with face value tickets over the years
ECU Alumni with a cheap hotel room in Canton (still not sure what it looks like though)
Pez - Free wings
Chubakah - Free booze
Reic - Free Towel
Teddy - Free Food (A LOT of it)
There's so many people here who would drop whatever they are doing for people they have never "met" for anything... I'm SURE this is the greatest board in all of the tubes...
I know that if I was in [insert city], [insert state] I know that someone on ES would say "let's meet up for drinks"

Katie's good people.
I would go down the list of ESers who have helped me out over the years, but I don't want to leave anyone out. I'll just say that I'm incredibly grateful for the thoughtfulness, generosity, love and support I've received from this crew over the last five years. This may be the greatest collection of people on earth!!

This board is family even with the few misfits here and there.
Its amazing how we can step up to help each other out in the real world.
Thanks Kaos for recognizing it and Thanks Katie for giving him reason to.
It's so funny to me when someone I know personally asks me for help with something that I have no clue about, I can always turn to my Redskins family for answers, or support in other circumstances.

Katie is awesome. I met her for the 1st time at the Redskins at Chargers tailgate party. She is as nice as anyone I have ever met. I think ES is part of what makes being a Redskin fan so special. I have been treated like family by so many on here.

Too many genuinely good people to acknowledge. I am glad that Katie took a moment out of her plans to take over the world... that darn agenda of hers.
From TB and his offer of free tickets
To DJTJ and Major Harris who helped me out on a story
And several posters who came up with great music advice for outros (especially for that train story a few years back)
This place has crossed the line several times from virtual to real friendship. There are at least a dozen people I haven't mentioned from Gbear, Pez & Huly, Iheartskins, to Madisonskins, and Dean Collins.

I posted my lost dog thread w link and ES'ers donated about 100 bucks. 50 bucks came from one guy. Thats more $$$ than my chick could get from her own friends and family. She was impressed by extremeskins.

ES group hugfest!! woot woot!!!
There are so many reasons I love ES that I can hardly name them all.
I have had many political battles with Katie here but recently through facebook I've gotten to know a whole new side to her through witness in Madagascar.
I can't wait until the time when I finally get to attend a Redskins' game and join up with the ES tailgaters so I can annoy so many of my fellow ES'ers. ;)

Awesome story. I love this place, even those I get into heated "chats" with. :silly: I think about any of us would do about anything for each other.

That's awesome :)
Driving up to the Cincinnati game in 2008 Haphaszard met up with me and bought me some coffees in northwest Georgia. IONTOP offered to split a hotel room with me there (I was a stranger to him at the time). Also, Capt Rich used his car and did most of the driving to the Draft Day Party last year (and back).
....there are too many other times to list....

That really is cool. I'm constantly amazed at the breadth of this place.
I mean, I start a thread on appliances and I am talking to a fellow ES member later in the day on the phone who is in the biz, giving me GREAT advice (thanks again man)
We've got lawyers, finance experts, crusaders like keeastman, and we all share the common bond that we love the Redskins and love Redskins fans. This is a great place.

I clearly need to make more friends on here...lol Seriously though, I love the wealth of knowledge collected here. Anytime I need help with something, I come here. If not for this site, I would have quit working out a long time ago. Plus, I can get my arguing done on here so I dont have to argue with everyone else :silly:

Welcomed to the ES feast when I went up for the TB game. Pez, Huly and the rest of the regular ESers gave us free food and never asked for any money (which I would have given with no problem).

Agree on the asking for help. I've learned so much about all kinds of different things on here. I use this site as my first resourse when I have a question about something. ES is the new Google!

Agreed! Its better than google because I can get specific answers to questions rather than have to dig through a million pages of things that answer parts of my question but not really what Im looking for because I do not have the right key words!
And its kind of sad that you are the only one on this board that I actually know outside of the board...lol I need cooler ES friends :silly:

While not a single act of generosity as in other examples, I really relied on the Winter Thread this season. People I work with joked about my dependence on these "unknown" weather forecasters back in early December. Yet by January they would come up to me and ask "What does your Redskins site say about this next storm?"

Any time they were predicting a winter storm, I always came here to get my information. I figured pooled sources were better than any one source and that turned out to be true.

Even if you have to trailer it, you HAVE to roll in on your scooter to a tailgate. :ols:
That would be priceless.

The sad part is I have been to two skins games the last two years and have yet to make it to the ES tailgate....Oh well I have season tickets now so I better make it over at some point this season!

Wow, thanks Kaos. It really was no problem, especially because the internet was working that day, lol. Your daughter seems like a great kid; she was very sweet in her emails. I'm so happy to hear she did so well on her final report, that really brings a smile to my face.
And I agree with you about ES. There are some really great people on this site, some of whom I've even been able to hang out with at west coast game tailgates which has been so much fun. My friends make fun of my "ES issue" as they call it, but there really is a wealth of knowledge and good people on this site...sometimes you just have to be patient to find it/them :D
