According to Matt Mosely, if Mcnabb goes to the pro-bowl or if we have 9 wins or more, the Eagles get a third round pick next year otherwise it's a forth rounder.
Essentially we as fans are in control of the pro-bowl stipulation. So even if Mcnabb lights up the record books, we must hold our ground and do what's best for the team which is to vote for Jason Campbell to make the pro-bowl.

No we aren't. Voting is only a 3rd of the pro bowl selection process. Players and coaches hold the other 2/3 of the control in Pro Bowl selection. And if we win 9 games and he takes 70% of the snaps for the season, they still get that pick

Fans do not control which players make the PB, if that wre the case London Fletcher would have made it last year

we're going to win 9+ games, so vote away.

If the Fans had total control Flecth would be a 3 time Pro-Bowler by now....I just let Philly worry about Philly and I'm going to vote my teams players to the probowl period.

Sorry to nitpick, but he did make it as an alternate for Jonathan Vilma thanks to the new asinine Pro Bowl schedule.

It's dumb that we allowed Philly to slip in that Pro Bowl stipulation. Their fans are going to stuff the ballots with his name.

So......we hope for an 8-8 year?

I hope that McNabb makes the probowl. If he does it means that we have had a somewhat successful season. In my opinion that is what's most important. McNabbs success = Redskins success.

David Garrard made the Pro Bowl last year. You don't have to have a good year to make the Pro Bowl if enough people drop out of the game.

Doesn't matter, Iggle Nation also knows this and will be voting for him. Probably the first time in his career that the Iggles fans support him.

LOL fans have a small small percentage in the pro bowl.

I could NOT care less about the pick. I want to see McNabb succeed in DC. I'd love to see him in the Pro Bowl AND win 9-or-more games. Who cares if we give up a 3rd or 4th? Just assume it's a 3rd now and move on and root for this guy to get it done. :)

David Garrard wasn't technically voted into the probowl. He was selected as a reserve after five or six other quarterbacks withdrew. Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, and Tom Brady all had more votes than Garrard. I believe that Ben Roethlisberger did as well. I'm sure that the agreement that the Skins have with the Eagles takes care of this.

Him being an injury replacement still made him a Pro Bowler. The way that guys turn down Pro Bowl bids is what cheapens it. It is also why saying a guy is a Pro Bowl player is pretty meaningless. The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. We should have stipulated making an All-NFL team. He makes one of those and you know he had a good year.

Moot point as the Skins will likely win 10-11 games next year.

I'd rather get into the playoffs and have a chance at a Super Bowl and McNabb make the pro bowl than worry about a draft pick. :2cents:

You are kidding youself if you think that we are going to give the Eagles a third round pick instead of a fourth rounder because 6 players declined to play in the probowl. If you don't want to vote for him, don't. It's a non issue.

If he deserves to go, then I will vote for him. No need to punish McNabb over a deal the Skins made. This team is fully aware of the reprocussions of him going to the Pro Bowl.
In fact, I hope he makes the Pro Bowl, but has to turn it down because he may be playing the following week.

Implying that fan voting for the Pro Bowl is significant.

It was a stupid stipulation in the contract easily maneuvered to some other measurable such as passer rating, games played, or QB ranking in some football stat. But if the guy shines enough to be rated as one of the first three QB's (I don't suppose the contract gurus thought to stipulate that his probowl selection couldn't be as an alternate?) then I'll vote for him. I hope his year turns out that he is deserving.
9 games? I hope for 16 but I'll wait to see an improvement in the OL before I'll guess more than 6.

It's not a big deal. A late 3rd if we have a good year vs an early 4th if we suck. I'll take the former.

33% of the voting process does not equal a "small small percentage".
I'm with the OP; losing a 4th beats losing a 3rd.

We are screwed either way. I can guarentee you the Eagles will all vot McNabb to the Pro Bowl so they get a 3rd round pick so essentially they just washed out your theory.
Honestly I just don't see McNabb going to the Pro Bowl unless we are in the play offs. Which won't matter anyway cause we will have won more then 9 games. Personally I think with the proven coaching staff, better scheme, and better QB, this team is headed for atleast 9 wins, 8-8 at the worst. I just think the Skins have better talent then 4-12 which means Zorns scheme sucked, and his play calling sucked.
So I do see McNabb getting in based on our 9 wins or better this season.

Does anyone really believe Eagles fans are really that smart? A lot of them can't even tie their own shoelaces. :logo:

we'll win 9 games... so whether or not he goes PB is null.

Dude, who cares. If we win 9 or more games, that means we're in the playoffs. That means it's a low 3rd round pick. Therefore, it's worth it.
