1. Why are the Redskins trying to trade Albert Haynesworth?
Because he won’t get with the program. Coach Mike Shanahan is the second coming of former Redskins coach Marty Schottenheimer. It’s his way or the highway. Owner Dan Snyder won’t interfere and vice president Vinny Cerrato is gone so Shanny’s in charge.
Haynesworth doesn’t want to play in a 3-4 at nose tackle. It doesn’t fit his style. Frankly, we wonder why the Redskins are moving to this scheme given it creates even more roster needs on a team with too many to fill. Haynesworth has already received $32 million from the Redskins so he can tell Shanahan to take a walk when it comes to the offseason conditioning program. Obviously, the new coach isn’t happy about his star player being a problem child so it’s exile for Haynesworth.
