View Full Version : How many trades starting tomorrow

This isn't about who although you can certainly do that, but what.

How many trades do you predict that will the Washington Redskins be a part of through draft weekend? None? 1? 5?

I think that we will be involved in at least three trades. One trade down and two involving players. Now, I don't know if we're trading players for picks or players for players, but I suspect that there are people we are saying good-bye to. Some of whom I'll be sad to see let go.

I actually think the liklihood of a static draft is really small. So, what do you think happens? How many moves does this team make?

I went with 4. I don't really think we will trade the 4th pick because the compensation will not be right. I want that to happen but IMO not likely. I think we will trade a player or 2 and in the lower rounds target players and move up and down depending on who is there.

We are going to look like the Portland Blazers on draft day.

Nothing would shock me with the FO wheeling and dealing like they have. I think sadly AH or AC is going somewhere otherwise why all the lineman?

April-21st-2010, 07:30 AM
AC is gone for sure unless they want to use him at OLB but Wilson could probably do as well.

i'm still thinking STL is trying to trade down and don't want Bradford. They will hear offers then if none better, will take our 4th and Campbell and possibly another player or later pick this or next year(nothing more than a 4 i hope).

We move up to #1 and take Bradford if Shanny loves him or only move up with STL if we already have a trade partner like Clev or Buff or SF to trade back out and get more picks and then get OL and/or S in the first.

**edit. One thing we've seen is that Shanny and Bruce don't get raped in trades but get good value and give good or lesser value to others. It's very refreshing. :) **

not trying to call you out, but if that was the case, wouldnt St Louis just trade with Clev, Buf, or SanFran then? its not like if we trade with St Louis and have the number one pick, then more teams will be willing to trade for that pick just because we're the redskins. We would get the same offers that St Louis received I'd imagine.

oh and I voted 2 moves...trading down and JC to another team.

The Skins have a lot of guys on the trading block. We only know about the ones people are currently talking about. I am willing to bet that there are more people on the trading block than we are thinking about here.

I went with four. I'm not very good at devising pick-for-pick trades, so I'm just speculating with players I think will be moved (in order of most to least likely):

Jason Campbell
Albert Haynesworth
Rocky McIntosh
Andre Carter

I think talks of Landry and Carlos have died down to the point where they will be staying; rightfully so.

MattFancy
April-21st-2010, 07:45 AM
I think we'll trade McIntosh and Campbell for picks. Not sure which picks or how many, but those are the two I see going somewhere tomorrow night.

D-Day
April-21st-2010, 07:47 AM
I picked 4

I see a couple of late round moves, a trade down from 4 and maybe one player trade during the draft. I think a couple more players are moved for picks next year.

I'll go with 6... three players and three picks all the while recouping those lost with new players and new picks ;)

Sounds about right to me lol.

I went with three.

I think JC and AH will be dealt, and one move involving picks.

I hope we don't move Rocky, but the writing on the wall appears in place.

Now, now, let's keep things civil; you're only as bad as he is if you go down that route.

To the other guy: I'm aware that these types of threads become rampant around these times with speculation, most of which, the content never materializes, but to be fair: it's fun. I can see how you may not like it, but it's not fair for everyone else if you go around bashing threads. Just don't take part. The whole point of these boards is for fans to get together and discuss their thoughts. Pure news can be found in the breaking news section or an outside source such as Schefter's Twitter or the WP.

I'll say at most, 1.

I think we're gonna be disappointed in the lack of trades this weekend. I don't think many other teams are that interested in Skins players and those that are interested won't offer enough to make it worthwhile for Bruce to pull the trigger.

I read somewhere that league officials are predicting more trades than ever this draft because its spread over the three day span.

XtremeFan55

I see 3 trades tomorrow.

First one is to Saints....we trade Rocky to reunite with Gregg Williams and to fill the spot vacanted by Fujita who signed with the Browns....with Redskins getting LT Jammal Brown..... can't do this trade until the draft since it will show our hand

2nd is trade of Campbell for about a 3rd or 4th to Oakland...

3rd is a trade of Haynesworth to whomever for whatever....

I think the most obvious is Rocky for Jammal Brown....fills both needs with expendable players...

if we get Brown we can still trade down and pick up another OT like Davis or Charles Brown to play right side...solves our line problem overnight.

I think we will trade Andre Carter before we would trade Haynesworth.

I said just one. If there had been an option for 1-2 I would have said that. I think we take Okung at 4 and after that we make a trade involving a player.

IF Suh, McCoy or Bradford fall to 4 then all bets are off.

I'm aware that these types of threads become rampant around these times with speculation, most of which, the content never materializes, but to be fair: it's fun.

When it's labeled AS speculation, it's fine. When it's titled, "Skins trade for Romo" and a billion Skins fans start screaming in the thread, it makes my head hurt. If you want proof of that, just start from the beginning of the Adam Carriker thread from yesterday. People were screaming because they started making assumptions about what the Skins gave up to get him. Once the facts were known, people started praising our front office again. There was a ton of knee jerk reaction to that thread.

IF Suh, McCoy or Bradford fall to 4 then all bets are off.

If by some bizzare circumstance Suh falls to 4 we could be put in a very powerful situation for trades. We take Suh and push hard to get rid of Big Al and Carter for more picks or I think teams that normally wouldn't trade up would be willing to talk about it for a chance to take Suh. Either option allows us to get more picks.

I put two. I think they will trade down but not so far down that we can not get Trent Williams. I think a trade for a player and draft picks will arise. I don't think Albert will be moved and I don't think Campbell will be moved during the draft. IMO

I'll take the comparison to an authoritative figure such as your father as a compliment, whether or not it was sarcastic in nature.

I'm guess three at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if the team wants to do more but I think our FO isn't going to make a trade unless they are sure it's a good deal. I don't see them mortgaging the farm like Vinny would.

Went with four. This year has been the best for trades, league-wide, more so than I can remember. The lack of salary cap hit clearly has the most to do with it. That and the fact the RFA class was underwhelming (and also had a lot fewer free agents than if the cap was still in place).

Depending on if they go in the same trades (I doubt it, they'll be each to different teams), I'm saying Haynesworth, Carter, and Campbell are going. So three.

Friday will be pretty boring unless we get a second or third round pick but tomorrow and Saturday should be very exciting. I admire your optimism on getting a third rounder for Jason. I'm hoping for a fourth or fifth rounder.

If all we're offered is a third rounder for Haynesworth then you are forced to keep him... unless, MS thinks making a statement to the team supercedes everything else.

This trade will get canceled because Albert will probably eat the sammich before he passes the physical.

I said four trades in my earlier response, but without naming them. I think JC is a definite goner, for a 4th or 5th. Rocky goes somewhere, possibly for a player, but maybe just for a draft pick. Someone else could get traded, but the other two trades would just be for shifting positions and or picking up extra picks.

The main OL situation gets addressed post-draft. We could use a late-rounder on a flyer OL from Diddley Poo State, but the reason Adams or Andrews or both won't come here before the draft is to keep other teams guessing on our needs. If they think we're looking for offensive line help then we can swoop in and address our under-publicized DB deficiencies.
