RI: Russ Grimm picks Joe Bugel for Hall of Fame presentation

"Joe Bugel will do the honors when it comes time to present Russ Grimm for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer. Bugel was the offensive coordinator during Grimm's playing days with the Redskins' Hogs (from 1981-91).
"When Russ said he wanted me to be his presenter," Bugel said in a statement released by the Hall of Fame, "it lifted me so high I almost hit my head on the ceiling."
The enshrinement (http://www.profootballhof.com/enshrinement/) ceremony will be held Aug. 7 in Canton, Ohio."

It is only right that Buges, as the coach of one of the greatest offensive lines in NFL history, will get to bask in some of the reflected glory of the Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremonies. I suspect the cheers for him from the Redskins faithful in Canton will be almost as loud as that for any of the inductees.

Buges is the perfect man for the job. If you ever wanted somebody to speak enthusiastically on your behalf, Buges is your man. That is something I really liked about Gibbs' staff, those guys saw the best in their players, and brought the best out of them.

Now that we have Riggo, Monk, Grimm, Gibbs, and Green in the Hall of fame, I feel our Super Bowl teams are finally represented, although I wish there was a way to induct the Hogs as a group.

Interestingly enough, I just saw Joe Jacoby today at the restaurant I work at. I talked to him for a little while about Grimm and Buges, and told him I hoped to see some more of the hogs inducted, he just kinda smiled and said "We'll see."

Jim Lachey was GREAT.

He was part of hte O-line that only allowed 9 sacks all season on Mark Rypien... and two of those came in the last game of the season with back-ups..

Those numbers include going up against Reggie White and dominating him like no one else did...
