Safety Reed Doughty suffered a broken bone in his hand during organized team activities but plans to participate in the remainder of the Redskins' offseason program, a person familiar with the situation wrote in a text message to a reporter Friday.
The injury occurred during Wednesday's OTA session and prompted Washington's medical staff to fit Doughty with a cast on his right hand. But Doughty, who has impressed the new coaching staff with his toughness and intelligence, practiced after the injury occurred. He's expected to wear a cast for a couple of weeks.

Broken hand in early June should be a non issue really. If its a 4-6 week type of deal, he'll still be 100% by training camp.

Depends on what type break he has.... seems like it not that serious as he is wearing cast and still practicing. he is a tough guy.

Tough kid. Won't phase him at all.
Reed reminds me of some of those old skins... like Kurt Goveia... not very glamourous but the type of player that helps win championships.
Would love OJ to come here, but happy that Reed will play a role.

If he's got a cast, he should consider the Conrad Dobler cast-as-a-club method. Old school football.

hopefully it won't cost him much prep time given his position. as long as he's got 10 fingers available by september, it's probably not a big deal. and even if he only has five for a few games... he'll still have better hands than carlos rogers.

Larry Wilson of the Cardinals played with TWO broken hands. He was a safety also.

Was it a hairline fracture or a real break? Anyway Reed is tough and he will be ok in 6 weeks.

Reed can probably still catch better than Rogers with 1 arm.

Ahh . . . the good ol' days. Brings back fond memories of how the game was played.
