I noticed on the Redskins.com store, McNabb's white jersey is listed as his "away" and his burgundy jersey is listed as his "home". Tends to back up the idea that burgundy on gold will be the 2010 home uniform, with white on burgundy the away version.

I wouldn't look into that too far..a new company took over sales of all Redskins merchandise, and they have changed up the names of things looks like, doesn't mean that will ACTUALLY be the case

If they are smart, they stick with the whites in September when it's still 90 degrees at FedEx. Jim Zorn went 4-0 doing that, you know, forced teams like the Saints and Rams to wear dark colors and overheat.

I just broke into a sweat recalling that horrid day!

I was dumping cups of ice into my ball cap and placing it on my head just to try and keep cool enough to watch the game.

I love the USC look. Burgundy tops w/ gold pants.

I definitely want to keep the white jerseys on burgundy pants for most home games, esp hot sunny days.

I hope the dark jerseys are the same tint of bugundy as the pants, bc it seems like our road jerseys have always been more red than the bugundy, except for the 70th anni in 2002.

When I hear this, it always reminds me of our opener vs. Dallas, '99. There were a lot more Redskins players gettng cramps than Cowboy players. We lost on a bomb from Aikman to Galloway in O.T.

I thought there was a killer play to "Rocket" Ismael before that...I remember hearing the name said emphatically. I certainly hope our opener against Dallas won't go that way this season.

That was the beginning of the end of Norv's time here. That one game typified our entire season that year - hold the lead just to give it up.

Yeah, you're right. It was to " Rocket ".

That was Norv's best year. He somehow went on to win the division for the only time in forever since the Redskins were last in the promised land.

When JG was here we always wore white at home though.

I've always much preferred the burgundy jerseys over the white ones just because of the "cool" factor of seeing them and the fact that during the Gibbs years we rarely wore the burgundy ones. But there is something to be said for the home white.

We wore white at home, but due to the fact that nearly all NFL teams wear their colored jerseys at home, the color jersey is always designated as the home jersey by the jersey companies and the white jersey is always designated as the away jersey.

This has nothing to do with what teams actually where, only what the jersey is called by the manufacturing company. Do a google shopping search for "redskins home jersey" and "redskins away jersey" and you'll see what I mean.

I guess the real question is: How did the Redskins Store list the jerseys last year? Were they simply listed as " white " or " burgundy ", or were they listed as home ( burgundy ) and away ( white )?

But...but...but....Gruden wore a burgundy tie when he called our game last year....:silly:

But seriously. Mayor's right here. White jerseys are designated as the away jersey League wide.

Leave the tea leaf reading to the professionals before some of you hurt yourselves. :)

The first time I read this, it sounded as though the OP was suggesting that the burgundy jersey being listed as " home " on the Redskins store, was a change from the previous year...I have no idea, but if the white jersey was listed as " home jersey " last year well, it could mean something. Bruce Allen didn't seem to want to come out and say " We are wearing burgundy at home ", but he definately insinuated that.

His point was that the dark jerseys may have been called the "home" jerseys even if we chose to wear the whites at home. I don't think the NFL merchandising would bother evaluating every team's most current jersey preferences when labeling the jerseys on sale each and every year. It's just easier to refer to darks as home and whites as road. If a team happens to buck the trend on the field, so be it.
