It's just like conventional wisdom says about these things

RB, QB, WR, TE, DEF, K

I'd err on the side of taking RBs one and two, but if it's not there, don't force it. While QB should be prioritized more than WR in general, in only a ten or twelve team league, everybody is going to get a good QB as long as they pick one in the first 7 rounds. RB, RB is the way to go, but if you're stuck deciding between Jamal Lewis and Terrell Owens or Eddie George and Marvin Harrison, those are probably the times to go WR.

Don't take any TE besides Shockey, Gonzalez or Heap before round 6, and take those in round 3 at the absolute earliest, preferably round 4 or 5. Don't take any D besides Tampa or Philly until round 8 or 9, after you have a couple offense backups. Don't take a kicker until about round 8 or 9 either, as there is very littel difference between who will be on the board there and on the board at the last pick.

What you can basically take from this is that you should only draft the thin positions if you can get the elite guys, TE, and DEF, in particular.

As far as running backs are concerned, err on drafting them early.

As far as QBs are concerned, don't panic, there'll be a good QB even in round 6. Nobody's going to take two QBs before they have at least 2 RBs and 2 WRs.

Everything CBM says is spot on can't argue with that.

Wes,

edit - didn't see the points for QB yardage until now.

RB and WR should be your picks round 1-4, IMHO.

If Shockey is gone by round 5, wait until a later round to pick a TE. They are all about the same after Shockey and Tony G.

Thanks guys. I forgot to add that it's a 12 team league. I don't know if that makes a difference.
