View Full Version : Fellow Skin fans...I have met the lowest form of Eagles fan possible.

So I work at a grocery store and there is a new guy who is an Eagle fan. He talks quite a bit and talks about how bad McNabb is. I ask him if he would've won all those games and been to all those playoffs without McNabb and he said yes because McNabb is garbage.

He proceeded to ask me where are we at in January while they are in the playoffs every year - I said we are at home yes, but in February we both are at home but biggest difference is we are shining up our three Lombardi's. He was like it don't matter Kolb is going to win us the Super Bowl this year since he is light years ahead of McNabb (which I proceeded to put a 50 dollar bet down saying that Kolb must WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR) anyways it does get a lot worse.

I told him how Eagles fans have no class and no respect and well the fact that someone who has won and brought some sort of glory to your franchise and you just throw him out like he is nothing. He said we are some of the classiest fans around. I ask him if he knows who Chief Zee is. He asks "that's the guy who is in the HOF for you guys?" I said yes a Super Fan. He said what about him. I proceeded to tell him the story of him getting beat up and he laughed and said well he should not had been in Philly. I said wow that is pretty low. So the fact that some punks beat up a man because he loves and lives for the Redskins you laugh and condone it?

He says yes I mean he should not be in Philly. You in Philly repping the Skins well you deserve to get what comes to you. I flipped the script on him and said what if say your grandfather is a die hard Philly fan and is in DC and gets killed for being an Eagle fan would that be OK? He said no that'd be wrong. I ask what's the difference he just said because it is.

He said all I gotta say is don't go to Philly. I just looked at him and said look all bs aside I really have no respect for you. He was like why Zee got what was coming to him coming to Philly and is lucky it was not worse. I said and this is why you guys will never and should never win a Super Bowl. You guys are undeserving and are the biggest scum on the planet and would rather talk to a Dallas fan over an Eagle fan any day of the week because hell at least Dallas can say they have won something.

I think it took a lot out of me not to deck this kid

Anyways, not all Iggles fans are d'bags, just most of them. :)

BTW, he wants to go to Redskins training camp and see if he can get McNabb to sign a vintage Eagles helmet for him.

Dude, you're making the mistake of believing that this guy has the same values as you, same compassion, same ability to value other human beings. That's your mistake; he simply has different values and a different take on the world.

What you have with the Philly fan base is a mob mentality, where behavior turns extreme as each one tries to outdo the other one. They see the team as extension of themselves, and a team loss or a Redskin fan in their midst is a direct threat to them. Ton of research on it (social capital theory).

With this guy, you should ignore him and carry on with your life. Nothing good can come out of it.

Am friends with several good and decent Iggles fans. They acknowledge the scumbag reputation of their fan base and are embarrassed by it (i.e., they hold the same values as you and me). They cheer for the team in spite of their fellow fans, nothing wrong with that.

When McNabb was an Eagle, I'm sure this guy said how he was the greatest QB ever in the franchise on and on.

It's amazing how people can change their minds in a span of a few miliseconds.

IMHO, I think McNabb should do well in DC - everyone keeps overlooking that the Eagles backup C Nick Cole was the goat of those 2 losses to us at the end of the year. Jamaal Jackson got hurt, and it was as if Cole was put in a crash course out of the blue. He was badsnapping the ball all over the place, I guess he had so many other things to concentrate on that he wasn't familiar with. At least Cole now has had an entire offseason to work with Kevin Kolb.

I agree you need to step up your game with this guy. I think the 3 idea one poster had would work great, easy and cheap to work. I would post pictures in obvious places where this guy would find them. And yeah the little verbage shot would kill him eventually. That is if your cool about it and laugh at him and walk away when he wants to banter.

---Oh sorry gotta run I've got three things to do.

---Look there is three trucks scheduled to deliver today at three.

---Yeah Philly fans aren't bad only three guys were booing McNabb when he was drafted and the media blew it up.

---Did you hear the news? McNabb is changing his number to 3.

You get the idea?

Sorry if something happened to you. I do it every year and it's not bad, if you can ignore smack talk.

If you want, do what i do. Plan to get there when the gates open. If you are early, no biggie, most people that you need to worry about will be tailgating. So go into the area aroudn the stadium. They have food and beer vendors there, just hang there.

When they open, walk around check otu the stadium, there will be very few people here. Then go to your seat - watch warm ups, get something to eat.

Don't go to the bathroom during halftime

When the game is over, let it clear out a bit, then walk to your car. Expect a lot of mouthing off. IGNORE it. Don't be an idiot and talk back. If the Redskins win, it's ALWAYS a lot quieter. If the Eagles win. Be prepared to hear it.

My brother in law is an eagles fan along with most folks in my family. But he's a good guy and he and I get along well even during the football season. He's one of the exceptions to the Eagle-fans-are-all-d-bags rule. Anyhow, he has season tickets. He told me he was once following some cowboy fans into the stadium through the parking lot in Philly. The guy was wearing a leather cowboys jacket with the blue star on the back and everything. A few eagles fans came up behind the cowboy fans, squirted lighter fluid on this guys back and lit his leather dallas jacket on fire. Of course the cowboy fan threw off his jacket but seriously. That's acceptable? Lighting your opponent's fans on fire? Maybe I'm old fashioned but that' just not how I was raised. F the eagles AND their fans. They are too brash for never having won anything. Too much swagger for having no trophies.

Don't even let him get to you.

Best thing to do is never let this guy see you sweat. He can say whatever he wants, but do NOT let it get to you. It's just words, stop taking it so personal.

Eagles fans are trash, you know it, even he knows it. Leave it at that.

If anything make fun of the Skins on your own terms, that way he KNOWS his words mean nothing. The best defense is a good offense in this case so just let him ramble, and maybe wear a shirt one day that has a BIG picture of a Lombardi trophy. When you walk by him show him the pic so he can see what it looks like.

Or better yet get a shirt printed that has a picture of an empty trophy case.

kiing, I totally agree. Eagles fans are the worst people to talk to, it seems most of them forgot how suckish they were and how their franchise was kind of lost until McNabb and Reid got there.

I really hope they tank it, even more than Dallas this year, or maybe they could tie for the worst record in the league this season, tie both games they play each other.

You're definitely getting $50 bucks, and is this idiot taking more bets? If so I've come into some money. Too bad I'd trust a Dallas fan before I'd trust an Eagles fan anyday.....something about a hive of scum and villany....or something.

EDIT:
Of course, after we beat them twice this year you COULD come in and then say everything he said, "Man, that McNabb, THAT guys is AWFUL! What a loser! But no worries for you man, YOU have Kolb! Phew, thank goodness for that! Long live Kolb, hope he signs for life cause HE'S the real deal!"

I was a huge Jordan fan as a kid and these Jazz fans were harassing me during Game 5 of the Finals the first time they met. Every time Pippen missed a layup they'd say, "Scottie Pippen misses LAYUPS!?!" So, I was quiet for the entire game just smiling and ignoring it. At the end John Stockton had to make his first FT, and miss the second for the Jazz to have a chance, he missed the first and I said, "John Stockton misses FTs!?! That's the easiest shot in the game! Well, at least he's going to the HoF, at least he's got THAT on Jordon."

They were livid, I walked out smiling. The funny part is, I was INVITED for dinner and the game. I know I won the trash talking because I was NEVER invited over again. :rotflmao

Tell him to eat a big fat bag of d***s for me. My boss is an Eagles fan and we get along great, living in Dallas rooting for other teams might do that to you I guess. But still he's awesome, not all Eagles fans are bad people. It's just the bad fans for the Eagles are the absolute worse fans in the entire NFL and knocking one out would be a pleasure. Good job holding your temper

I know a few Eagles fans here in Charlotte and all of them are good people. Only one of them is actually from Philly and his father still lives there. The only thing he ever said that fits the "Iggle Fan Image" was after the Panthers/Eagles NFC Championship game. A female Panthers fan was on the news talking about what happened to her after the game. She got on a bus to get to her car and get the hell out of Philly and a man punched her in the face for having a Panthers jersey on.

His reply to this was, "She probably ran her mouth and said something to deserve it." I was like dude, a man punched a woman in the face and he just smirked.

I'm pretty sure most of them just want to get a rise out of people and don't really mean what they say. They like to rile people up. I know there are some real *******s there though.

Not all eagle fans are like that. I made "jersey bets" with a die hard eagle fan at work. I lost the first one and wore a black McNabb jersey all day. We won the next one and he had to wear a Skins one.

He has a couple of Mcfarlane's (action figures) of McNabb and offered to paint half of one with Skins colors and leave the other half in Eagle colors. It's almost complete now except for the logo on the helmet and looks fantastic! He said he'll give it to me before the first game of the season. I'll post pictures of it.
