in case there are some that haven't seen it. Or aren't fans of the piano, or classical music. This is just too good to pass up. Franz Liszt's "Transcendental Edutes" is some of the wildest stuff I've ever heard, it's amazing that people can legitimately play this stuff. this video's just one of the etudes. If you like it and want a good recording , Leslie Howard's is great. Anyways, if you love music you should take 5 minutes and watch this whole thing. This guy slays this.

Very awesome dude!
I'm a huge fan of epic, technical music in genereal. Heavy metal guitar soloists happen to be my favorite.
Don't mean to threadjack, but here is some epic speed metal :)
Much like you, I just have to share.

Let's get some Paganini in here

Love the top comment to the video: "If Paganini lived in the 80's he'd be one hell of an axe shredder. "

Lizst was so pretentious :ols:. He is pretty much the reason that concert pianists are expected to perform their music by memory all the time. Whenever my girlfriend talks about having to perform music by memory, she curses Liszt :ols:. His music is kick ass though!
Rachmaninov was one hell of a pianist too. His music was more on the virtuosic level as well because of the enormous intervals he would have players do with one hand on the piano.

Gotta love the "Oh yeah? Watch this" aspect of threads like these. Something different now. To the OP. That was amazing stuff.

I don't think it's a childish "oh yeah?" as much as it's a "since these guys appreciate musicianship, I'll show them this..." kind of thing. Great videos so far...

I'm glad you enjoyed, and I really hope others will as well. I, personally, am so overwhelmed by the complexity of Liszt's compositions, and the fact that people can actually play his stuff really speaks volumes about this life that we lead..

I'm not a classical expert at all. It's one of those genres I feel I should listen to more, but for whatever reason, I just don't. However, watching how fast his hands, and seeing the sweat drip from him was crazy. Good recommendation!

You most certainly should my friend. feel free to PM and I'll give you many recommendations. Not everyone does justice to the original compositions so you have to choose wisely. I'm getting ready to sign off for a while but like I said PM me and I'll hook you up. For now just watch Yundi Li videos heheheh.
