View Full Version : Recommend a hotel in DC/Baltimore Area

My son, who's 4, wants to go to the National Aquarium and the Smithsonian. We went to the Zoo and Aquarium last summer and he loved it.
Anyway, we stayed at the Embassy Suites near the BMI airport last year and it was good.
Can anyone recommend a hotel in the 150 or less per night price range that is in a good area. I have no problem going back to the Embassy Suites, but, I figured it never hurts to ask people more familiar with the area.
Thanks in advance.

I'd try the Marriott in Greenbelt, MD. Pretty close to the metro and 295 which ultimately dumps you in DC or Baltimore depending on which way you go.

One of my client owns this Sheraton hotel and is only two exits away from FedEx Field as well. :)

Is parking an issue? If you want to take the train into Union Station, you can walk across the street to the Phoenix Park Hotel. I eat at the Dubliner maybe every few months, and the hotel is the same building. I never stayed there, but the price is right at 109/night AAA rate. If you stay there, let us know how the rooms are, and get the Beef O'Flaherty at the Dubliner with a Guiness, lol.
You can't beat the location.

If parking isn't an issue, you can stay at a really nice hotel, like the Westin Grand (I got married there) for like 128/ night AAA rate booking just a week in advance. Of course parking will be like 25 bucks a day.
