I am sitting at my seats at tonights Nats game when I hear a very familiar voice in the seats directly behind me ... I tell my dad to play it cool and tell me if its Clinton. He peeks over and looks at me and says ... "yep."

Dude was right behind me ... I never did turn around or say anything to him because after 3 innings word that he was at the game ran like wild fire in our immediate section. People were all turning around to look at him and eventually the cell phone camera's were breaking out. He made a comment like, "people are going nuts with their phones man."

A handful of people came to take pics, one guy was visiting from japan and said CP was his favorite player ... another dude was a name dropper who was sticking his chest out saying he was in charge of security at fedex ... clinton totally blew him off. I could tell he was not exactly thrilled by all the people coming up to him and think the biggest reason was because they all either were like, "Clinton remember me?" or like, "I'm so and so, and I work for this place, blah, blah, blah."

he did tell a funny asrse story to the girl he was with about being a vendor in highschool at the orange bowl. he said he set his beverage thing down to give some guy his sodas and when he was done someone swiped all his money from his beverage carrier thing ... he said he just bounced and never came back to work after that ... :ols: dude has the most infectious laugh by the way, it was hilarious.

I imagine that's got to get annoying sometimes. I mean getting bothered just going to a baseball game. I don't think would have bothered him if you just said hey or something. I could see him getting annoyed at a whole bunch of cell phones being turned in his direction and people constantly coming up to him. He is a person after all and he just wanted to see a baseball game.

It would definitely suck having bunches of people coming over to you at something like a baseball game, but he had to know something like this would happen. I mean, its DC. People KNOW the Redskins.

i know i sound like was all up in his business ... but people were literally standing over me while they were talking to him and I was peeved for him ... he just couldn't chill.

0ne guy was like, "Clinton, remember me? I worked at the meat section at safeway?" the usher at one point came up to him and was like, "there is some big time lawyer that would like a picture with you, do you mind?" Clinton was totally like, "okay man, whatever." It was aggravating i'm sure.

i do get it though, it comes with the territory, but people were getting a little nuts. the cell phone camera thing was a little odd.

Yeah that would piss me off. Like I said if some around him just said hey to him I don't think he would have cared but being nagged by people constantly coming to him probably got old. Asking for a picture with him when he's just trying to relax not to mention hanging with possibly his girlfriend is just rude.

I'm sure Portis appreciates hi's and stuff when he goes out to games stuff as he does like his fans but no one wants to be nagged a entire game for a picture or conversation.

yeah man, what also made me cringe a few times were people that flat out interrupted conversations he was in ... i mean mid sentence they jumped right in with their requests ...

Yeah, constantly being nagged like that would suck. Dude came to watch a game and talk with whoever he was with, not to be swarmed by people.

And just think...he probably just went to see Strasburg pitch. So much for that...

No way Portis is with only a 8. She would have had to been atleast a 18.

That's nothing. Being a famous actor or musician would be exponentially worse.

But nevertheless, even CP wants to see Strasburg pitch.

Pretty cool story although I'm with everyone else I would hate it if people constantly came up to me and bothered me during a game instead of just playing it cool

I hate to say this but, it sucks being a multi-million dollar running back for one of the league's most storied franchises and biggest fan bases. Thats the price of fame. If he doesn't like it, get box seats.

Dude, I made it such a point to not look back at CP and his girl I didn't not even see her, brutal on my part, i know and i failed ... however, after like in the 7th or 8th inning they left and i asked my dad, who had a more inconspicuous vantage point, what was she like? ... he was pretty much like hot as hell. he said she was light skinned african american girl with an "awesome body." his words not mine ... :pfft

You're 35 and you couldn't muster up the balls to turn around and look at him or his date?

Pretty sure my pops was at the game. I was in Cali and I get a text from my buddy, "Hey dude either Tom Hanks from Castaway is sitting behind homeplate or your dad has some kickass seats. He's double-fisting brews and talking to your mom, so I'm guessing it's not Hanks."

The fanfare surrounding CP being at the Nats game is yet another example of the Redskins being the biggest ticket in town.

As for the annoyance factor for CP personally, I'm sure it sucks, but he'd probably be more bothered if no one cared. Also, it's cool that he just got normal seats, but being who he is, he had to expect some people wanting to talk to him.

I don't think the "CP is just a big star" excuse not gonna cut it. We see stars all the time at the Staple center, stars at the Madison Square Garden, Ben Affleck at the Red Sox game and you never see them being heckled like that. I think mainly, because people are used to seeing them out in public and are probably viewed as regular people. In DC, not so much. I highly doubt its a case of "oh Redskins has a great fan base" i'm sure if Kevin Durant was out there, he would get heckled too...does that mean the Thunder fanbase stretches all the way out to DC?

Nice.... I love me some CP!... I wish you could have gotten to chat with him a little bit tho. Sucks you kinda had to take the high road and not feel like bothering him. I would have a hard time controlling myself from not saying something to him. Thanks for sharing tho bro!. Hail

Pretty sure any famous sports figure sitting in regular seats is going to get pictures taken and approached for stories/autographs. It's just the price of fame no matter where you are.

i was just gonna extend my hand and say, have a healthy season and kick some ass. had it all planned out ... :pfft:

Clinton especially seems like a guy that doesn't really like to be bothered by people outside of football.

Can't say I blame him.
