Did not see a thread about this...

I just got home from a screening of this, and it was the most I have laughed at a movie in a long time. I thought it was going to be pretty dumb, and at times it was, but it was hilarious. It is getting great reviews so far, and it deserves them IMO. Even though the trailer below says that it comes out July 23, I think it comes out nationwide this Friday. It definitely gets my thumbs up.

Edit: I am not smart enough to post a youtube link :D

you did the youtube thing wrong.

You have to use the embedded code from the video and do this [ youtube] embedded youtube code [/ youtube] then the vid will show up.

But yeah it does look funny from the previews I've seen.

I find Paul Rudd funny. I find Steve Carrell funny. I find Zach Galifinakis funny. I want so much to see this movie.

So far it's getting 90% approval on Rotten Tomatoes: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dinner_for_schmucks/

Yeah, I tried it that way, and it did not work for some reason. Oh well, there are a ton of trailers out there, and unlike a lot of movies now, the trailers actually do not give too much of the movie away or show even a portion of the funny parts.

Yeah, you won't be disappointed. All three of them are pretty damn good in this movie.

A friend of mine had passes for a free screening. I almost did not go, but I am pretty happy I decided to. Honestly, I am probably going to have to go see it again, because people were laughing so much in the theater (including me), I am pretty sure I missed some pretty good lines.

I noticed Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords is in it, too. Took me a while to place who that guy was at first. The movie looks kinda stupid, honestly, but it has my interest. I'll watch it, I'm sure.

Yeah, I was not a big Flight of the Conchords fan, but he was really good in Dinner for Schmucks. Played a bigger part than I thought he would and it was pretty much perfect for him.

I wanted to see it. But, in my experience, any movie that shows this many tv trailers is doomed to mediocre at best. :(

Well, I figured I would check it again on Rotten Tomatoes and it is all the way down to 51%. Reading some of their reviews, I think some of the critics take things way too seriously.

Or maybe I am wrong and it is not as good as I thought. Did anyone else happen to see it?

I've screwed a lot of things up in my life, but I don't think I've ever seen a movie by accident.

Disappointing. Not as funny as you'd think.

I once got a little "hazy" in the parking lot outside of a movie theater with some friends. Think I was 18 or 19 at the time. We went in, and I stopped for nachos at the concession stand. I then went to the theater, sat down, (wondering where my friends were and why the movie had already started) and watched the last 2 or 3 minutes of the movie I was planning to see. It was playing on 2 screens and I walked into the wrong one.

I had a free Regal Rewards ticket. I wanted to see "Salt." Since Salt had been out for 2 weeks I thought I could use the free tix. The usher told me that I wasn't able to use the free tix for Salt yet, but since he was in a good mood, he'll let me go see it anyway. He directs me to theater 2. Instead of Salt, the movie was Dinner for Schmucks. I really didn't get all that mad as I was just moderately interested in seeing Salt anyway.

But the Regal Rewards free movie ticket is a joke. They really want you to use it on a movie that no one wants to see or a movie that's on its last legs.
