Anyone else watching this? I'm neither a Tebow lover or hater (though his fanboys are annoying) but I was real curious to see this. See how he does and see how he looks.

He just finished his second series right now. Both 3 and out. First one he launched a bomb down the sideline to a wide open reciever who unfortunately flat out dropped it. Probably would have went for six. Second series, hit a short yardage curl pass. And now almost got picked off. The DB dropped the INT.

I know they've talked about how much the Bronco's staff has been working on Tebow's release but man. It still looks horrible. Still long and slow. I don't notice any difference to be honest with you.

Oh and the Cincy fans boo'd him unmercifully when he first entered the game. I thought it was hilarious. Welcome to the NFL son.

About to start his third series. I'll edit when he does something.

1st play - shotgun formation, pass, clipped from the blindside, pass to the left, almost picked off by two different Bengals.

2nd play - shotgun formation, dump off to RB right before getting hit, six-yard gain.

3rd play - shotgun formation, curl pass to the left side, gain of like 15, first down.

4th play - run up the middle, no gain.

5th - shotgun formation, scrambles to his right (no pressure really, more panic than anything), sacked for a short loss.

6th - shotgun formation, absolutely DRILLED, sacked, fumble, returned for a TD.

Lol, goddamn. They crushed him. And I mean damn, that wasn't even from the blindside and he still didn't see it or feel it coming. Kind of similar to that sack that knocked him out last college season. I know it's his first preseason game but not looking good in this first preseason game

Tuck rule looks to be in affect. Probably gonna rule it incomplete on the review. And they do.

Going for it on 4th and 11

7th - shotgun formation, bad snap, Tebow scoops it up, and then runs for like half a yard. Turnover on downs.

Bengals running the clock out now. Tebow ain't coming back.

Strike that, Tebow out for the last minute. Fourth series...

1st play - shotgun, screen pass, under pressure, 10 yard gain
2nd play - shotgun, screen pass, 8 yard gain

3rd play - shotgun, quick pass to TE, 6 yard gain

4th play - shotgun, scrambles to right, NICE pass across the body down the field to WR down the sideline. Nice pickup, 25 yards or so.

5th play - shotgun, scrambles around, avoids pressure, gets pass off into the endzone to wide open receiver and he drops it.

3 seconds to go, ball at the 7

6th play - shotgun, WOW, avoids pressure, scrambles towards the endzone, is WHACKED but gets in for the TD. Ouch. Lol Tebow tried to run over them like he was back in college. Kind of like the Elway super bowl run. He survived and got the TD.

He looked much better in the 2 minute drill. Nice pass down the sideline, nice job avoiding pressure when finally feeling it, nice decision to run for the endzone, and he showed toughness getting in.

See, now I came into this open-minded. Taking this game for what it is (the first preseason game), I'll say the things we thought would hold back Tebow coming out of college are still the things that could possibly hold him back. His release and his pocket awareness. Oh and as you see, I think every snap he took was from the shotgun formation. Eventually he's gonna need to get under center.

His release was still dreadfully slow. And his pocket awareness was dangerous at times. Decision making could use some work but he's a rookie. His arm strength is kind of weird. He can get the ball there but it floats a little bit. He's got arm strength but not bullet arm strength, if that makes sense. It's gonna be really interesting to watch him develop and see how he ends up.

His stats for the game: 8/13 for 105 yards, 2 rushes for 10 yards and a TD

Oh and Brady Quinn looked like hot garbage. Pretty ****ing horrible. And Kyle Orton was Kyle Orton. I won't be surprised if he keeps that job.

Thanks for the updates man, I was interested in this. Almost a morbid curiosity.

Wow, are they gonna run every play out of the shotgun for him this preseason?

No problems. I enjoyed doing that. And I'd use that same word to describe my curiosity with it. Though I have to say, while it wasn't good (and it was against 3rd stringers) it wasn't OH MY GOD!!! horrible. Dude has a TON of work to do. But he's tough. I'll give him that.

I think what's going to eventually kill him is that McDaniels isn't going to last long enough to be there to finish the project.

They might have run a play from under center in his first two series, but if they did I must've blinked cause I didn't see it. Straight shotgun. And pretty much the exact same shotgun formation the whole way through.

Tebow tonight looked like a STAR. His determination, and dedication will take him to his highest potential. Keeping him in shotgun formation allows him to focus more on his MECHANICS. If they had him under center, it'll be too much for him to handle being, he's only a rookie, and a QB who everyone is doubting.

He showed great poise, and looked like a general out there.

Doesn't sound like it.

You sound like a Tebow superfan, and therefore not a reliable judge.

I thought Tebow looked as one would expect. A couple of nice passes, but still shaky overall. I counted two balls that should have been INTs. He certainly looks to have much more upside than Brady Quinn.

Yeah he should be QB#2 so they can use him around the goalline. McDaniels has to be aware of the QB#3 rule. I expect Tebow to move past Quinn when the season start. And I thought Tebow looked good tonight.

Tebow looked okay from what I saw. He definitely reverts to his poor mechanics when people are around him and he's trying to make a quick decision. If they don't fix that then he may have a lot of trouble when/if he faces a first string D. He did make some very nice throws. The deep pass to the WR was very nice, dude just dropped it, he has some of the best accuracy I've seen when throwing on the run, if they had him doing half rolls and bootlegs on most plays he'd be dangerous.

He did have some very poor throws that should have been picked, he also seemed to hold the ball a bit too long, but overall he looked solid. Hell, tons better than Quinn who looked like garbage wrapped in puke wearing a dirty diaper.

I fully expect Tebow to beat out Quinn for the #2 spot if they both play the same way for the rest of the preseason, but Tebow still has a lot of work to do before I could say he's anything more than an okay #2 or mediocre starting QB.

Very good summary, here.

Honestly, I see McEgo giving Tebow the #2 job no matter how he and Quinn play, so that he can be active on game day for certain packages, etc. Not to mention the fact that he moved back into the first round for him

Unless Orton goes down for an extended period of time, during which I think Quinn would start, allowing Tebow to continue developing.

lol not even. I mean come on, we're talking about a guy who has NO shot. I thought for someone dipping their toes in the water for the 1st time, and had TONS of ????marks. He looked like he held his own.

Against third stringers, where he failed to feel pressure repeatedly (I mean dude got blindsided to the face once again), where he didn't take a single snap under center and where his same old bunk throwing mechanics were on full display. I said Tebow played ok. I'm not hating on him. And I think if anyone can overcome the amount of deficiencies he has, it can be him.

He's a tough, hardworking guy with tons of heart. That's clear. Just look at that run where it's 3 seconds left in a meaningless preseason game and he basically punishes himself by running through two defenders at the goal line.

But to say he's a star destined for greatness after his performance tonight is laughable. At best. Honestly, I still think it's a long shot that he succeeds. If he hasn't been able to correct his delivery yet, what makes anyone think he ever will? I wouldn't be surprised if he is eventually moved to H-Back. He's a hell of an athlete. He does lack flat out speed though.

The fact that he'll have been working on it for more than a few months? :whoknows:

I was extremely relieved to see anyone other than us draft Tebow, but he's not the kind of prospect you can judge in a year. If he's successful, he's going to have a similar career to Steve Young's - a running quarterback who takes a long time to develop into the kind of passer that can consistently beat NFL defenses with his arm.

Apparantly he was the greatest college qb of all time. Playing in a college football crazy city probably didn't hurt either.

I really want him to do well, but I have to admit that the first time I saw him play in college I thought, "That isn't going to work in the NFL."
