Yeah, because those guys this writer mentioned never messed up trying to make a play. What an idiot.

Your thread title isn't formatted right, Tom lol...you should know better. ;)

Other than that, what the hell kind of logic are they trying to use in that article? lol :ols:...That was beyond stupid.

Nope, it was Eli. He saw one on one coverage with Barden and wanted to try to take advantage of his 6-6 height. He just forgot to let Jacobs in on it so Brandon thought he was getting the hand off.

I seem to recall Eli's pocket presence as he hit Plaxico for a winning TD in that crazy comeback a few years ago. Or when he hit Plaxico for a winning TD in that crazy drive in Super Bowl XLII. Not to mention the Tyree Miracle. I can't wait until the Philly media start BBQ'ing Kolb, or better yet the fans start booing him.

Ummmmm, huh? What do you mean it isn't formatted right?

I might as well use this thread for something more useful than this article was.

If anyone who views this looks in the fantasy football section of extremeskins, you will see an invitation to fans of teams in the NFC East. It is a league I've been doing for a few years and there are 5 spots still open. Join if you love fantasy football, a team in the NFC East, and will take the league seriously.

Philly2Philly.com: Eli Manning's Injury Shows He's Not An Elite NFL Quarterback

Eli Manning has more Superbowl victories than the every Eagles team ever combined. You can just feel the jealousy ooze out of this article.

That said, Eli is a goof. He falls down/runs into his own guys more than an QB I can remember, but he's still got a ring.

What they meant to say was over the 4 or 5 years Manning has been starting he doesn't hold a candle to the borderline genius pocket presence of Kevin Kolb... Sorry Tom I don't know why isn't more obvious to you... I mean he's played 2 WHOLE games...No really the whole thing...lol

Not surprising coming out of Philly. Every QB makes mistakes, it's better to get them out of the way in preseason than when it really counts.

BTW, Eli's tougher than I've given him credit for in the past.

In other news, PLaxico Burress shows that he isnt an elite wide receiver. Elite wide receivers do not shoot themselves in the leg. By doing so he shows a lack of intelligence that is crucial to playing WR. :silly:

I would say it was a little of both, but probably about 60-40 Eli's fault. On a play action, the running back shouldn't be that close to the quarterback anyway to get the fake. He needs to give the QB space enough to put the ball in and pull it out. Jacobs was all over Eli on that play. I think what happenned was Jacobs realized it wasn't a run fake, but a half second too late, so as he was trying to move into position to pass protect he went into Eli's path and caused the bobble.

It wasn't supposed to be play action, it was supposed to be a running play.

Manning’s injury, which occurred on what would have been his last play of the night, came after he collided with running back Brandon Jacobs on a miscommunication in the backfield. Jacobs was prepared for the called play – a handoff up the middle – while Manning tried to audible to a fade to Ramses Barden on the right side.
The only problem: Manning didn’t notify anybody except Barden.
