Did it seem to you guys and gals that Cris Collinsworth has a Man Crush on Miles Austin? It just seemed like every time the Cowboys were on offense Collinsworth seemed be just could not shut up about great Austin is.

He's got as much of a mancrush on the cowboys as he has a man hate on the Redskins(except for the two seconds he made fun of barron last night)

He slobs on Romo, too. It's sickening. I despise the dude.

He seemed fascinated with Austins lower body strength. Bet he'd like to find out about it in even deeper depth.

He's an idiot, it's beyond me how he's managed to fail upwards in broadcasting over the past 10 years.

Whenever I see him, I think of two things. I think of Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long picking on him week in and week out back when he was on the Fox Pregame show, and of that interview he did when he was playing in the NFL about how high school girls 14-18 was his go to group and that he walked around with $100 bills hanging out of his pockets to impress them.

Collinsworth played WR in the NFL so he always seems to provide more insight on that position. I don't think he was that bad last night. He was giving Silverback a TON of props and constantly saying how much we improved from last year.

I don't mind Collinsworth at all. I despised him in the 3 man booth on FOX with Buck and Aikman but he has really shined with Al Michaels. No he's not John Madden but that's not a fair comparison.

Lol, I missed this when it came out. What a creep. The old interview is in the second half of the vid:

That was kind of funny. He started drooling over Miles' lower body, and then the camera panned down to Austin's butt. Maybe Wanda Sykes has a point about football being a "straight man's gay pride parade."

I did seem a little homoerotic that he was going on and on about how strong the dude's legs were, almost like was imagining how it would feel to have them wrapped around him... :silly:

Madden wasn't all that great either. His man crush for Favre is legendary.

Maybe they should go on a double date.

Geez....you guys complain about everything.

I guess you didn't hear him heaping praise on Landry, McNabb, Williams, and Orakpo?

The cowboys don't deserve any praise in your worlds......unbelievable.

I think Collinsworth is the best color man going now. He's the only one who focusses on line play while actually saying more than "The big guys up front really did their job there." I thought his explanation of what Haynesworth wants to do versus what the coaches want him to do versus what he was actually doing was awesome.

And his explanation of how Miles Austin became an awesome receiver actually made a lot of sense and was not something that ever occurred to me. I mean, you hear all the time "So and so runs great patterns" but no one ever explains just what that means. Austin having great lower body strength which helps him come out of his breaks faster than anyone else seems like a reasonable explanation as to how such an average looking player suddenly became an All Pro.

Agree. I think he's great at what he does. But fans are always on the lookout for "bias" against their team or for a team they dislike.

Both Collinsworthless and Al Michaels wore Silver and Blue ties. :paranoid:

Collinsworth was a WR when he played, so I think when he's doing a game where there is a good WR, he tends to talk about them a little more. Austin is definitely a good WR, and God knows there isn't a WR on our team worth spending a lot of air time talking about.

As for Collinsworth's progress as a broadcaster, I think he was awful when he worked with Aikman and Buck, but he got better since then and I don't mind when he does a game now. And he doesn't have the embarrassing crush on Favre that Madden had.

I hate the dude he is so damn annoying, I think he is a dumbass when it comes to football and he thinks he is so smart, I sometimes hit the mute button when he speaks. He is just a condescending lil prick!

Aikman is easily the best and has a **** on for the Redskins for some reason.

I like Collinsworth AND Theismann :)

I think they're both pretty laid back... good for casual football fan... but still offer some tidbits a few times each game for the hardcore fan. I don't either of them too seriously... they are what they are. Commentary during the game during the huddles.

Again, I don't take these people too seriously.... which is why I don't buy NFL preseason mags, read editorials on football on sports websites... or even glance in the direction of "power polls".

Media guys are for the casual football fan. Yet, most people believe they're die hard Skins/football fans... and yet take these things so seriously.

I've hated listening to Collinsworth since the first day I heard him in the booth over a decade ago. It's Ironic because I liked him as a WR for the Bengals. But he's a moron.

Collinsworth is alright, only issue I had with him was last Saturday's game

Other than that he did a good job as the 3rd man in the FOX booth and NBC, really don't have a problem with him but I was very intrigued by his blatant favoritism Sunday

WE'VE SEEN TONY ROMO DO THIS SO MANY TIMES BEFORE

HE CAN DO IT AGAIN

GO COWBOYS

Blatant rooting in the booth and it was ridiculous

I remember Collinsworth having a GIGANTIC man crush on our very own Todd Collins late in 2007. Dude was slurping him like he was the next coming of Joe Montana. It was hilarious, although TC did end up having two awesome games on back to back Sunday Night Footballs in New York and Minnesota.

I agree the hate for booth guys is mostly an overreaction.

The problem is, the casual fan hears what announcers/analysts say, and take it for gospel. Diehard fans who take these biases personally, are upset because they feel that their team is being slighted as a result. But, in general, I agree that bias is a flaw in analysts, and the best guys, Aikman topping the list, exhibit little bias.

I don't consider Collinsworth as annoying as Theisman, but I would put them in the same category. As for their analysis, I'd say it's mostly excellent.

Their are a few guys on NFL radio that deserve a shot at a booth, in my opinion.
