Many around Dallas have been critical of the Cowboys’ offense this season, but until recently, none of these critics have been members of the team.

With 155 rushing attempts, and 296 passing attempts, Dallas has the second most lopsided offense, in terms of pass to run ratio, in the NFL. Which isn’t a good sign, but it’s not as though the Cowboys have been abandoning the run for no reason: statistically, they have the second-worst rushing attack in the league, averaging just over 80 yards a game, and the team has consistently found themselves trailing opponents significantly--which, of course, leads to a lot of passing.

Still, a good deal of folks around town see the need for a greater emphasis on the run, and this group includes defensive end Igor Olshansky, who appeared on Bradie James’ weekly show on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM, on Monday.

"Don't give the ball away," Olshansky said, via the Dallas Morning News. "I mean, there's a lot of things that can go wrong when you pass the ball. You can get sacked, the ball can get tipped, you can get an interception. If you run the ball, you can get tackled and get a forced fumble. You've got to run the ball.

"You've got to be stubborn about it. You've got to be stubborn about who you are."

But, but...they have so much TALENT. That running-back-by-committee is SO TALENTED (and, overpaid.) That offensive line has too much TALENT to be so dismal in run stats.

Look, puke fans told me they wouldn't miss Flo this season...I'm pretty sure there are some puke fans who visit frequently who are going to tell me Free is playing well! :rotflmao:

That terrific and TALENTED coaching staff told Jones to put on some more weight, and guess what happened? He lost a step! He still has his TALENT, though...it's just a step slower.

Cheer up puke fans, you get to play the Eagles twice this season...and you beat them 3 times last year...the last win being your first playoff win in 12 seasons! Your team is too TALENTED to lose to them this year. In fact, your team is more TALENTED than last year. If you lose to them, it certainly isn't because you're not TALENTED.

I remember Cowboy fans hooting and hollering as they supposedly upgraded their defensive line with Olshansky over Canty at a fraction of the cost. I remembered that even more vividly as I witnessed Olshansky making a complete ass of himself on national television celebrating two meaningless tackles in grand fashion as the Cowboys were down 18 points late in the 4th quarter to the Giants, as big Igor finally made his "presence" in the game felt.

It's that kind of "heart" and "passion" which seems to define the Cowboys this season... meanwhile the Giants have one of the most devastating rush defenses in the league, to go along with one of the more dominating (if not the most dominating) pass rushing defensive lines in football, and guess who has played an integral part of that, commanding doubles, obscuring passing lanes with that 6-7 frame, and just generally being the disruptive force up the middle that we so desperately missed last year when he was injured.

I was hoping someone would mention this. Guy's an idiot, down by 18 points and he's going WWE in the Giants backfield.

LL30 is guilty of this too, but at least the games were closer and he's not calling out the offense :)

Olshansky is the epitome of everything I hate about the Cowboys. I would have hated having to root for this guy. It's gotten to the point where even Cowboys fans are starting to turn on him. I bet they're not quite as happy about the "bargain" Jerry Jones got by signing Olshansky.
