Simple, really... I'll try to update this bad boy too, but it can act as a database for the guys who are declaring... Plus it cleans the board up from all of the "____ ______ declared, should we!?" type threads.
If you want me to add someone to the declared OR the undeclared list, post here please. If declared, please include the link

For the record, take a look at Southern Miss Receiver DeAndre Brown. I don't know what the guys in the draft thread have said about him, but I've seen him play a few times... I like him... A lot.
I'd like to hear what Dukes and Skins has to say about him.

Utah Utes football notebook: Cornerback Brandon Burton will enter NFL Draft
Burton, a 6-foot, 185-pound lockdown corner, made 51 tackles and two interceptions for the Utes in 2010. Who was projected to go as high as the late first round by some draft experts.
EDIT - duplicate, I just noticed him on post #12.

Height: 6’5″

Projection: 1st-2nd Round

someone to keep an eye on and is under the radar Michael Floyd, Notre Dame, (Jr.), 6-3, 228
Often looks to be a man among boys. Floyd isn't a burner but he's a competitor who willingly blocks with the intent to punish and wins jump balls in the red zone.
that is from cbssports.com
perfect for our system!

Great idea KDawg. Tho I fear it will do little to keep the board clean at least I'll know where to go.
This is going to be a weird draft. We have so many needs we could basically go BPA and still get a position of need. But at the same time, everyday I am able to convince myself that one position is a higher need than another and that position changes every couple of days.
Be nice if we could add some sort of flashing text to read me threads since READ ME doesn't appear to grab some peoples attention.

I am really getting sick of these quality "football" posts by you dawg.;)
I think we'll see an influx of underclassmen declaring in the coming weeks.
I say that because of the uncertainty of the CBA and the possibility of a rookie cap. Might be the last year to earn that undeserved ridiculous contract.

I have a feeling at least a couple of them will. Id be surprised to see herron and pryor stay to be honest. I know they made a deal with Tressel but words are words, nothing more.
Anyone know why Tori Gurley declared?? Hes only a sophomore and is a great physical specimen but hes raw. Being in the shadows of Jeffries wont help his draft status either. He is 23 so maybe his eligibility was up??? Kid has potential to be a future top pick if he stays.

Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers will forgo his senior season and enter the 2011 NFL draft.
Often drawing comparisons to Bruce Smith as a Tiger, the 6'4/280-pound Bowers led the nation with 15.5 sacks in 2010, ranked second with a whopping 26 tackles for loss, and won both the Nagurski and Ted Hendricks Awards as NCAA's top defender and top defensive end, respectively. Bowers is widely considered a candidate to be drafted No. 2 overall by the Broncos. Jan. 5 - 4:52 pm et

True ballhawk safety. Would love to target him in the 2nd round, he's got freakish athletic ability stemming from him playing as a WR then transitioning to FS. He's not a Sean Taylor but the man can ballhawk and while he's raw he would be a good fit here in our scheme

40. Dallas Cowboys: Kenny Tate, S, Maryland
New free safety Alan Ball was a pretty big liability this season. The Cowboys need to upgrade this position unless they want DeSean Jackson torching them twice every year.
41. Washington Redskins: Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland
The Redskins will need to provide their new franchise quarterback with a weapon. Santana Moss, Anthony Armstrong and Chris Cooley just aren't enough.

I am a student coach with southern miss..... Brown is remarkable from a talent perspective, however he will not last too long. He will raise his status with workouts but he had multiple run ins with the law, only one official arrest i believe. He had numerous blow ups with the head coach, and gives ZERO effort unless he thinks its a play he will get the ball. He came back from a complete break of his leg freshman year,(nasty youtube) but had many many snaps/games missed because his shoulder "hurt", hamstring was tight, stumped toe... it was really quite ridiculous to watch and listen to him interact with the coaches and trainers..... the trainer actually asked him at one point if he really even wanted to play football...... his response was "sometimes..... as long as i am getting the ball"....

Sands is a player i get to watch every weekend, and without looking through blue and gold glasses i have to say he looks everything like a future star. He is a great wrap up tackler that goes through the ball carier, and at 6'5 225 lbs he is an incredible ball hawk, strong in deep zones, and very capable of covering the slots.. teaming him with LL in the second round could be a very strong play in the draft, although i know some will say we have more needs (which i don't necessarily disagree with).

Perhaps. He'll be a four year starter with some tremendous film. The problem is that next year's class looks almost as strong as this year's does. IMO, Jenkins had done enough this season to where he was already the third corner in the class. Next year is going to have Dennard, Minnifield, Hosley, and Kirkpatrick in it too. Exactly. Deep draft, lots of talented RBs coming out, not a whole lot of teams who need one, or need a different position more. Therefore, he drops "just because." Not due to a bad combine or character issues. I don't see him as being a "BPA" pick until the 4th or 5th, if not later.

Exactly. Deep draft, lots of talented RBs coming out, not a whole lot of teams who need one, or need a different position more. Therefore, he drops "just because." Not due to a bad combine or character issues. I don't see him as being a "BPA" pick until the 4th or 5th, if not later.
Gotcha, that makes sense. I can definitely see him "getting lost in the shuffle", so to speak.
Of course, a crazy fast 40-time could change that. But he'll have Devine and others to compete with, there. I do think he'll slip later than he SHOULD go. That's a great value pick in the 4th-5th, in my opinion. Even more so if we've acquired a 3rd and 4th and used those picks in a manner that allows us a "luxury" pick.

i really like the idea of tacking john clay late - real bruiser, and if he takes goal line carries away from torrain, that has to help torrain's help - plus i think we can easily upgrade over williams with talent available this year. Is clay big enough or a good enough blocker to cover at FB?

Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure announced Tuesday that he will forgo his senior year and enter the 2011 NFL draft.
A 20-year-old true junior, Leshoure set the Illini's single-season rushing record with 1,697 yards in 2010 and scored 20 all-purpose TDs. The 230-pound power back averaged 6.25 yards per carry in his final two years, including a whopping 8.05 in his last four college games. Leshoure is the early favorite to be the second tailback drafted in April, behind Mark Ingram. There is even some growing sentiment for Leshoure to go before Ingram. Jan. 11 - 11:01 am et

I watched Henry (Hank The Tank) Hynoski play in highschool....he broke all kinds of local rushing records. He was an absolute BEAST as a tailback.... He was 5'11" 230lbs then.... He is around 270lbs now.... He was used primarily as a lead blocker and occasional reciever out of the back field for Pitt.....but If he can get into the 250lb range he could be another Peyton Hillis......:-)

I don't call it bad some have him projected in the top 100 picks and he's a good slot type receiver. If we had a big guy already and we may have it with Kelly I'd look at him but I'd rather let our guys develop first then go from there. Not a bad move for Cobb and he'll make a nice wild cat/slot receiver at the next level

Not 100% sure about Cam. Hearing that the back injury during the BCS game could be serious. Not sure what it's called but a disc popped out of place. But I still think he will go Pro.

Herniated disc? He looked like he was in a lot of pain. That could come back to hurt his draft stock because those back injuries unfortunately can linger.

Stevan Ridley, RB, LSU
Height: 6-0. Weight: 223.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Projected Round (2011): 5-7.
Stevan Ridley is a power back who doesn't offer much in the passing game.
The Verdict: Bad move

If you watch Ridley this year, he's like Arian Foster. He's not going to wow you with special ability, but he sees the holes, gets north andd south quickly, and breaks through arm tackles. I would not be surprised if the skins pick him up because that does fit our current running system. He's also quicker than people give him credit.

Jarrard Tarrant was a CB that was moved to safety to fill the void that GT had on their roster. He might be a surprise gem at FS. I think he has good ball skills.

Nick Fairley, DE/DT, Auburn
Height: 6-4. Weight: 299.
Projected 40 Time: 4.95.
Projected Round (2011): Top 2 Pick.
If Nick Fairley isn't taken by the Panthers, he'll be headed for Denver.
The Verdict: No-brainer
Auburn’s Nick Fairley enters NFL draft
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 14, 2011, 12:40 PM EST
A day after Auburn quarterback Cam Newton announced that he was entering the NFL draft, Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley followed suit.
Fairley isn’t quite as well known as Newton, but Fairley is generally considered a better pro prospect, and possibly the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, if the Carolina Panthers take a liking to him.
The 6-foot-5, 298-pound Fairley won the Lombardi Award as college football’s best lineman or linebacker and led the SEC in sacks (11.5) and tackles for loss (24).

The deadline for underclassmen to enter the NFL draft is Saturday, which means the clock is ticking for Georgia outside linebacker Justin Houston’s decision.

Haven't seen definite confirmation yet, but for now will put Tate on the list as returning. I'll continue to look for more direct confirmation in the meantime.
Also, I've added the five suspended Ohio State players as all returning, as they promised. An ESPN blog post says that all five have "appeared" to have kept their word to return. We'll know for sure soon, and I'm keeping my eyes out for word on them as well. But for now, I've put all five on my "not declaring" list.

KDawg, I saw you had Robert Quinn as undecided. I did a quick search, and he's definitely in the draft, although not so much on his own accord but because he was ruled ineligible for the entire 2011 season for taking illegal benefits. So I added him to the "declared" list as a defensive end, with a link to an article explaining his sanction.

I think we should look at Herzlich the linebacker from Boston College. He had cancer and lost alot of weight. His season before getting cancer was amazing. 110 tackles in college for one year is crazy. I am sure he is rebuilding what he lost in size from treatment. I have not heard anyone speak of him, so if we end up with a third for Haynesworth and we take a NT with it, I hope we pick this guy.

Now that the official list has come out, there's another surprise addition. Backup defensive back Javes Lewis at Orgeon has declared. Here's the Link (http://oregon.247sports.com/Article/Javes-Lewis-enters-NFL-draft-11941).
Also, I've noticed that some of the "official" lists of declared players include the two senior UNC players that were declared permanently ineligible along with Robert Quinn. I'm not sure why, since they were kicked off the team as seniors, but they are DL Marvin Austin and WR Greg Little. Just mentioned this, KDawg, in case you felt like adding them in, since (as I said) a number of the official lists are including them.
