Two thoughts, while different layers of the stack may be free of licensing costs, I think there will always be opportunities for value-added commercial software. Quickbooks isn't going away anytime soon.

And from a security perspective, what about vulnerabilities and particularly malicious code. Open Source has more oversight than a proprietary development shop in, say Indonesia.
