Whattup guys, I dropped this video last night at midnight and the response has been pretty cool so far.

I spent the entire last month working on this song and video... Most of which was filmed on U Street in DC, and the opening scene was at a Manhattan apartment.

The Doors-People Are Strange (Voodoo Farm Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPUW6xqOB0g

The last video I dropped 2 months ago is approaching 40K youtube hits, and now I start the long road of trying to blast out my new project to the masses. Hope you guys enjoy.

Some facts about the song/video....

I am responsible for the synthesizers, keys, drums, samples, arrangement, and mixing of The Doors-inspired remix... My buddy Robert E. Corrigan Jr added some very interesting guitar work, and my boy Johnny BLK hit the harmonies throughout the song.

The video was shot on zero budget. I am a starving artist like everybody else on the grind, but I'm lucky enough to have a bunch of attractive friends who get excited when I come up with a new video concept. There are about 20 different faces in this film, and not one of them have ever been on camera before.

Everything was shot primarily with two Canon 7Ds, (my buddy rocked an L-series lense, I primarily used the IS 70-300mm) and one Panasonic HMC-150.

I'm going to be knocking out remixes/videos like crazy this year, and will be dropping an album of completely original music in May along with visuals for every track. Hope you guys diggit man. HTTR

I like the video. The audio remix is OK. That song definitely is played out so freshening it up is cool, at this point I'm sort of undecided on it. I like parts of it, but it doesn't do it enough for me to download it.

Keep up the good work though, as I said I think the video is well done.

Very interesting. Nice work!
I liked the use of the lyric, and I liked the overall concept.
The one thing I'd say is that the center part where it slows down into the dance between the wicked woman and her choice.. i was feeling a need for more energy there.
I like how it ends.

Right on... I mixed the song and the video at the same time (meaning the song wasn't finished when I started filming) so that they would make more sense together. I realize that not everyone is going to love the song or love the video... So the idea is to give people both and hope that they pull something positive away from the package. Glad you enjoyed it man.

Well I definitely pulled some positives frm the package. I am a Doors fan, and expected it to be more "Doorsy".. but wasn't disappointed that it wasn't.
You changed the focus of the song,, which in it's original form is about being a social outcast.. to a story of the women who seem wicked.
I liked it. When she enters the picture, the focus sharply narrows to her as a predator,, who in the end falls prey.

Nice work. I've gone thru it twice, enjoyed it both times. I really like the opening montage of the models with their lipstick

Thanks Bang- always been a fan of your work. The "rave" scene was tough for many reasons... our amplifier blew about 20 minutes before we started filming, so instead of JBLs we used an iPod dock/tower thing for music... it was miserable hahaha. Also, I had to go nuts in post-production to create the feeling that it was actually dark and lights were flickering in the room... In actuality, the room was very bright and there were zero strobes or neon lights.

All in all, I'm happy to finally be able to look at it as a completed piece of work and appreciate any and all constructive criticisms... Especially from creative minds such as yourself. Thanks for watching man.

I liked it. The video has higher production value than the Adele mix where you were ironing your junk. It looks exceptional considering it was done on a zero budget. Keep up the good work and yeah, your friends are attractive. ;-)

It looks great especially considering this fact. You pulled it off really well, it definitely had the feeling of a close, intimate club. I agree though that during the dancing scene it felt like it was going to either get intense or go high-energy, but never quite did either.

All in all, I really enjoyed it.

Yeah the chick who plays the lead had a really perfect look for what I was going for. She had some runway experience and those eyes were piercing.

I have to say that aesthetically, I was really inspired by Black Swan for this film concept. You can tell by the eye makeup on the lead... the use of the mirror to bring about feelings of false-reality during the intro... the rave scene... and the basic notion that everyone will meet their match one day. This was kind of my way of paying homage to a movie that I felt was both haunting and beautiful.

Ahaha thanks for listening man. Heading back out to the desert in the morning with my fancy camera to do it right this time. HAIL

That's good to hear man... yeah people who were actually in the video hit me up last night and were like "Ummm... were we really having THAT much fun in that freezing/dirty warehouse with the ipod speakers?" Believe me, they were not hahaha

The transition to the rave scene, and the rave scene in general, are both done very well done. Looks very professional.

I can't say I'd ever listen to that song on it's own, but it fits the video very well due to the great job you did editing.

Thanks bro... tough crowd when it comes to the song LOL but that was expected- it's probably my "strangest" mix yet. Not really meant to stand alone... in the last video, the song was the leader and the video followed... for this project, the roles have reversed so it's only natural I guess people are leaning towards the visuals.

I really appreciate the feedback though man- thanks for taking the time to check it out.
