The Skins old GM gives advice on how teams should approach free agency. I'm sure fans of the Ravens and Steelers are taking copious notes to pass on this sage advice to their favorite team's respective front offices:

From the article:
"It's the same situation you have with all your players and the homework that you've done on a guy.
You're not going to want those kind of players who isn't going to work and doesn't love football.
You don't want to pay that guy a lot of money. You gotta know the guy, because you've had plenty of time to investigate. So you're going to have a feel for what they're going to come in like.
But the thing about it is you don't even know how your team is coming in. So the coaches have to gauge everybody when they get there and see where they're at. Otherwise, everyone is going to have [muscle] pulls. But you still have to go by the free agent's talent and abilities and what you see on film."
How the @#$)O%&Q#)($& could that nimrod say any of that with a straight face?
They forgot "Vinny's Rule No.6: Embarrass your franchise at every media appearance, throw the coaches under the bus, and suck at everything you do, forever."

They're also using Jim Bowden. Apparently it doesn't matter what you did in your respective sport, if you worked there, you're an "expert!"
I read about half the article and had to stop. It was full of ****. At no time did Cerrato practice any of those "principles."

I would think that continually trotting Vinny Cerrato out would be enough to prove that the sports media is indeed out to get the Redskins lol...

I couldn't get past the title of the article without laughing and shaking my head.
And....since I read a bit farther somehow...how the **** does he get away with spouting "advice" that is the opposite of almost every move he made.
Boggles the mind....the fact he's employed as an NFL expert I mean.
I couldn't make it through the article, and moreover, I think Vinny is just reading the script.
Because its bland. Like eggs with no salt.

Seriously, has there every been a more loathsome character associated with the Redskins' Front Office than Vinny Cerrato? Maybe George Preston Marshall's racist self, but at least the 'Skins were a powerhouse in the late 1930s and 1940s.
