I think there's definitely 'something' about that report. I've read the rest of the league is also showing TC downturns. But no official head counts to verify that. But look at what happened to the last MLB strike. I still don't think the O's attendance ever recovered from that. Fans get pissed, and they stay pissed for years.

I think it's because we haven't been winning. People still love the Redskins, just tired of the losing. Last year was very disappointing. If the team starts winning again interest will rise back up.

Personally, I think we're doing something now we've needed to do for a long time (get younger, focus long-term). It just isn't going to lead to instant dividends.

Not really. I think the fan base has become Snyder-ized. No big free agent signings to get excited about, nothing to see in Ashburn. People scream for a rebuild but by and large this fanbase doesn't have the stomach for it.

I agree with that too. I didn't think about that. No real 'draw' to head out there. Another 'draw' is players are only in shells. I'd rather see contact, personally. But when you add up all the little reasons: Lockout angst, lockout start dates, the QB situation, economy, price of gas, parking, cost (food & merchandise), heat, thunderstorms, having to hoist your kids on your shoulder for hours! I can see why most folks are staying behind.

I think the lack of fan turnout is a combo of a bunch of things. Obviously some fans have been jaded by the lockout but also with the lockout ending and TC starting so abruptly it didnt give time for families to plan a day out to the park and take off from work so soon also didn't give the team enough time to give fans the heads up on when there are open practices. Also some fans know the whole team wont be able to practice together until Thursday so they are waiting.

I think that has alot to do with it. I would've taken a day off work to go down there, but with not knowing the dates, it made it kinda tough to take time off.

I swear I'm so tired of hearing people talk about Luck and how they hope we suck so that we can draft him. I for one, want my team to win every time they step on the field and I'm rooting for them to win, I don't give a **** about next years draft.

This is why I want to get as many picks as possible for next year's draft. I find it hard to believe that Shanny will win less than 6 games in his 2nd year with a team that won 6 his first year with inferior talent to what he has now. We're going to finish between 6-10 & 8-8 so if want the best of the best qb (Luck & Jones imo), we'll have to trade up to get them.

Just something that occurred to me, there were a lot of people, fans and "experts" alike, saying after the draft that the one pick that we made in the first few rounds they weren't happy with and that was a reach was Jarvis Jenkins. Now I don't follow college football closely so I really didn't know if it was true but now, even though it is still early, no pads on yet, the general consensus after seeing the first few days of camp seems to be that Jenkins could be a beast and one of the best choices we have made. Just goes to show that possibly Shanahan and his coaching staff and scouting team actually know what they are doing. As I said, it is still early but its looking more and more promising for the future of this franchise (future being a word I think the organisation only came across recently)

I'm not so sure that is as much about 4-3/3-4 as it is about a competent staff. Good teams rotate their DL to keep guys fresh and exploit match ups.

I think Carriker has his spot on lock, but the thing about the 3-4 and esp Haslet's is there is a lot of rotation, and this this year we actaully have the players to rotate

For a guy that only did 17 reps at the combine Im surprised he is so strong. He must have that natural strength and much of it in his lower body like Phil Daniels.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play this season with college strength. Next year and then the year after that when he has been working out NFL style he is going to be destructive. I love the pick especially with the addition of Cofield. We're going to have a DL in the backfield nearly every play.

Trent Williams would abuse most DL when he's run blocking. He loves beating on people and is good at doing it. The same as Jarvis will be stronger after a year in the NFL, Trent is at that position now. Will be interesting to see what happens when he's matched up with Cofield :)

Relax......I'm in for the long haul. I don't really care who our QB is going to be to be honest. I see this team going in the right direction. getting some young hungry players. I'm also excited for Helu, which could very much put us in games to win it this year. Shanny has a gift of making running backs do work and Helu is the perfect fit for a Portis/Denver RB. I'm more excited this year to watch our RB play. However, this is a messageboard for opinion and I just think Rex gives us the best chance of winning this year. Tweets say Rex is doing better in camp, I don't think Beck is going to start. But if Rex starts playing bad, I think we will see Beck this season.
