http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Chad-Ochocinco-promises-to-reimburse-Mason-Foste?urn=nfl-wp5459
The play happened with 10:04 left in the first quarter, and the Pats at their own 39-yard line. Chad Ochocinco(notes) ran an inside route after trailing right for about 10 yards, got his arms up to catch the ball from Brady … and got completely 'faced by Bucs rookie linebacker Mason Foster(notes).
The pass was incomplete — fortunately, Ocho was complete when he got up. Foster was penalized under the 'defenseless receiver' rule, the Bucs were docked 15 yards, and Foster can most certainly expect to be a little lighter in the wallet when the league sends out fines this next week.
However, that's not the end of it. Ochocinco later tweeted:
ochocinco Chad Ochocinco
@Mason_Foster great hit last night,if u're fined I'll reimburse u boss.That's the way the game should b played.Stay healthy n have a good yr
Seriously, what's not to like about the guy?

Wow...that's an awesome gesture by Ochocinco if he goes through with it.
I like that players and coaches are fighting back against some of these rules. I understand they are done to protect the players, but sometimes you have to let football players play football.

I'm a fan of Ochocinco, he brings more entertainment and pizazz to the field, he's like the anti-Roger Goodell.
Kinda like how Stone Cold Steve Austin was the anti-Vince McMahon.

While I agree the tweet was a great jesture, the part about paying the guy's fine is STUPID. And just another in a long line of stupid things the guy does. If you're gonna give your money away like its Monopoly money, then put it towards some useful charity. Not some stupid way like this. Its a wonder this guy has any money left! And I don't want to see anyone feel sorry for the guy, when is career is finished, and he's broke.

Shut up dude. Just shut up.
I always had some doubt in the past about whether you were trolling or actually serious. Now I know. Too much of a reach on this one.

NFL fines go towards charity, so he is.

I'm not the biggest ochocinco fan, but that Stone Cold/Vince McMahon comparison is spot on. There are times he needs to just chill out, but this is a great gesture. Love the fact that he mans up and admits a great hit, even against himself, AND THEN says he'll pay the guys fine if fined.
Anyone think of Ryan Clark a little bit? just a weeee bit? He probably wouldn't have caught so much flack if he just manned up to getting trucked, lol.

I hate when fans try to control what a player do. Going to a night club???...you shouldn't be up that late. Bought a nice chain???...shouldn't spend your money on that. Holding out for a better contract???...shut up and play. Just give it a rest...these are grown ass men

i don't agree with you often but this is true. they are still people, let them be. i mean as long as they aren't doing anything to hurt anyone else, i'm not sure what the big deal is. there is a little bit of 'they are role models', but it's also on the parents to say this is who you should look up to, and this is who you shouldn't look up to.

He has plenty of money, the rook doesn't. He's helping out a fellow player.

As for the topic. I love 85. He is a great personality and cant wait for him to be on some NFL tv show when he retires.

Yeah, same here; and I do agree with him from time to time.
This, though, is not one of those times. This was a tremendous gesture by Ochocinco. He knows this is just a game and he wants to have a good time (though he also does work on sUNDAY). Plus, he stays out of legal trouble and he interacts with the fans in a positive way. He also sees through Goodell's charade and seems to genuinely love the game.
Kudos, Chad Ochocinco.

Usually when 85 gets lit up he shoots up and starts barking at the player who did it. I guess he grew out of that

I'm dead serious. The guy throws away money like its nothing. That's not stupid to you? What's trolling about saying the guy should put that money towards a charity, rather than throwing it away on stupid crap, like playing an opposing player's fine? He more or less paid a guy for beating his ass!

I doubt he played a major role in that. It was more of the front office's insanity than 85's antics.

blue, I clearly stated that I thought the jesture was nice. The part about tweeting about it being a good hit. I just feel its stupid to take it further than that, and actually pay the guy's fine. That's something you do for a teammate, not an opposing player.

Love it. Ochocinco is the freaking man. After all of the criticism he has endured over the years he still comes out and has fun. That is what football is all about, having fun. And they are professionals as well as entertainers, so they get paid to do so. Get off the man's bones.

If Ocho wants to go that route, good for him. I seriously don't know if this is a publicity stunt (which he is more famous for than his football play) or if he is 100% sincere. But, it's his checkbook.
Now, excuse me for a quick rant. The thing that gets me about this is all the people thinking he is sticking it to Goodell. News Flash NFL fans, Goodell is not the one who made these rule changes, nor is he the one who oversees these rules. He is not on the committee that does oversee them, and he is not the one who fines players for their hits or penalties on the field. That would be Art Shell who does both the overseeing of that committee and the fining. People blame Goodell for everything. At Least learn what the guy is truly to blame for. We are supposed to be knowledgeable fans, after all, aren't we?

I'm sure Goodell could do something if he wanted.
Why should he? The league, the owners (whom Goodell works for, btw), etc. all voted on these rule changes. There are 10-12 people whose jobs are to know the rules, watch film to see if rules have been broken, and decide what measure of punishment should be taken. Why would Goodell over-step all of them, including his own bosses, in order to "do something" because he "wanted" to? If he did, THEN he would be the dictator that most uninformed fans have been claiming that he is. But, since he doesn't, now he wrong for that? Talk about ignorant hypocrisy at its finest!!!

Who cares if he "throws his money around"? It's not YOURS. It's Ochocinco's that he earned and has the right to spend it however he wants to. Just because you spend yours differently doesn't make your way the right way. Some people, including myself, don't think money is the greatest thing in the world, and if that's how he chooses to spend it instead of buying big diamonds, luxury cars, mansions, etc., so be it. It's not like he's wasting it at strip clubs and "making it rain" or whatever. The guy's done nothing but good things for people that I'm aware of, and yet Bubble bashes him every chance he gets. Sounds to me like you're a bit jealous of him. I wish there were more guys like Ocho.

Chad did more for charity during all his years in Cincinnati than you probably know, and as far I know, he still does. Just because he decides to use HIS money to do something OTHER than charity once in a while doesn't seem like its something to be so uptight about.
Whether its "stupid to me" is irrelevant, because its all relative. To me, that money is better spent on tuition and my mortgage. But to him, its not. I guess he should just send every single dollar not going towards necessities to charity huh? Right.
