Where did this dude come from? He got his man last night, I can't even hate. I used to clown that overrated bum Keith Brooking, but I can't do that for Lee. With him, Spencer, James, and Ware, I might have to give the Cowboys the edge for the best LB group in the NFC East right now.

He's from Penn State, Linebacker U. I wanted us to draft him two drafts ago, but we didn't have a second round pick thanks to the McNabb trade.

I agree with you KDawg. What Fletcher was doing last night is the same thing every team does. It's not douchey - it's part of the culture, but should that not also apply to Brooking? You find it distasteful because he's a Cowboy - that is the only reason.

I have to agree. Also expecting a lot of Bruce Carter as he is in the same situation as Lee. Drafted injured, stock fell, took him and can let him sit a year.
Ware : Top 1 or 2 OLB In the NFL
Spencer : Finally stepping it up
Lee : Looks like the truth
James / Brooking : Serviceable until Carter is ready.
Our front 7 is pretty stacked ... and our secondary [[knock on wood]] has played beyond anybodies expectations thus far.
#5 Defense is total yards, #12 in Passing, #2 against the run. Impressive

It may be premature to compare our OLBs to Harrison and Woodley but I will say that Kerrigan is already better than Orakpo and is much further along as a rookie than either Steelers OLB was in their first season.

If they can stay together and develop at a consistent rate, they can become a handful.
I forgot to mention in the OP that I hadn't even heard of Lee until yesterday afternoon when my cousin mentioned him. 24 hours later and he has made a good first impression for anybody who never seen him play before.

He said "once they hit their groove"...he didn't say they were already at that point. For all we know it might take Orakpo and Kerrigan and entire year together--and then another offseason in the system--to hit their "groove" and become the Skins' version of Harrison and Woodley.

Granted I haven't seen every defensive snap Kerrigans played, I just haven't seen enough out of him to think that once he hits his stride he'll be close to Woodley or Harrison.
From a Cowboys fans perspective, it's like saying once Dez Bryant hits his stride he'll be close to Andre Johnson or once Sean Lee hits his stride he'll be close to Urlacher or Willis. Possible I suppose, but it's just too early for claims like that IMO.

He's been ridiculously impressive in his first three games as a rookie. He gets a lot of pressure, is showing himself to be a bonafide playmaker, sacks, forced fumbles, INTs and touchdowns along with the QB pressures and completely solid tackling. And without a true "offseason" to boot...

As long as you realize that the Cowboys have another lber they drafted in the 2nd round who is supposed to be all that and a bag of chips in Bruce Carter. He should be coming back in a few weeks....probably won't see what he is until next year, similar to Lee.

Well the sack vs Dallas was because of the bad snap, if it's a dropback like the blocking scheme was based around the sack likely doesn't happen. The INT was a tipped ball right place right time type of thing. Not trying to criticize him here, just saying it's a little early for some of the hype around him already. Lets at least let him play out a season before saying he's going to be on Woodleys level.

On the tipped ball Kerrigan had to escape a cut block, get his hands up to deflect the ball, track the ball in the air, come down with it, and rumble into the end zone all in a span of about 5 seconds. It wasn't just him being in the right place at the right time. He had to do quite a few things right to get that pick, much more than if he had just dropped back and snagged a throw off a poor decision by the QB.
The early hype is well deserved if you've actually watched every snap he's played. As I said earlier, I honestly think he may already be better than Orakpo at just about everything that our coaches ask of the position and Orakpo is not too far behind that group of truly elite pass-rushers.

If the QBs holding onto the ball too long there must be outstanding coverage?
I remember seeing some posts with you absolutely ripping into the Cowboys secondary, so which is it?
And to Enter_Apotheosis I definitely haven't seen every snap he's played so I'm not claiming to be an expert or that I know more about him then any of you, just still sticking to saying it's a little early for all that. I suppose we can re-visit this after he has an actual body of work to analyze.

The best at rushing the passer in the league. Try running to his side and tell me how you do with that....don't forget when he did drop into coverage, no one caught a ball on him and he did have an open field tackle.

WHO? Did his name get called during the game? Besides none of them can cover their man. Ware is consistently trying to make sacks while leaving his guy uncovered. Spencer the same thing. So how many INT's do they have? 0, zilch, none, nada... So until they can do that they will still be just a glorified pass rusher with no coverage skills.

It's called a 3-4 defense. When Ware and Spencer are "consistently trying to make sacks while leaving their guys uncovered" it's called a blitz. These blitzes are called by the defensive coordinator, and they have no coverage responsibility on the play. The exception could be on some plays a LB may have the back man to man, and the back stays in. Then the 2nd read could be a blitz, or a drop into coverage. Just depends.
And if none of the Cowboys linebackers can cover their man, it's mind boggling how the Redskins didn't score at will isn't it?
Watch a few more Redskin games, you'll get it.

So how many INT's do they have? 0, zilch, none, nada... So until they can do that they will still be just a glorified pass rusher with no coverage skills.
Uh, Sean Lee made a crap ton of plays for Dallas. I would love to have him on our team.
Just because he's playing for the bad guys doesn't mean that he's a bad player.

[QUOTE=tr1;8574751]OMG!
Puke fans are now telling us Where is a GREAT cover guy!
:ols:
You fellas really need to try to be objective.
He's a pass rushing specialist, who's adequate against the run.
But a cover guy? :ols:[/QUOTE
we seem to be making some progress. Now at least you are acknowledging that he's "adequate against the run". In tr1-speak when talking about a Cowboy, that really means that he's very good against the run. Kudos man!

Yes, yes I did.
I also saw him drop into coverage...it was scary for you, wasn't it?
He's a pretty good one dimensional player...
About as scary as watching Trent Williams tack... blocking Ware all night.

About as scary as watching Trent Williams tack... blocking Ware all night.Trent handled Ware as well as any LT in football will when left alone on him. Did he hold some? Yes. Did Free hold Orakpo some? Yeah. Did every LT in the NFL hold the opposing pass rusher some last weekend? Yeah, deal with it. Ware was stonewalled all night by Williams. Deal with it. You won the ****ing game.

Its just a shame Redskins fans cannot say a single nice thing about our players but slobber over cowboys players ...Sean Lee is a player - fair enough - but this fawning over Lee kind of sickens me when cowboys fans in the same thread dismiss Kerrigan as a no-body who has shown nothing (yet is disrupting plays and making a similar kind of impact on the Skins as Lee is for the Skins - yet is doing it 12 months sooner in his career as a true rookie) and disrespect London Fletcher, calling him a punk, but at least he is playing well for a 136 year old right TRPB ?
when are we as a fanbase going to stop acting like losers and thinking every team is so much better than ours, every player on other teams are amazing and ours are trash and it is fair game for opposing fans to trample over our team and players without comment... no other fan base would stand for it but apparently we are too used to being door mats it is second nature .... Lets just remember the Cowboys are on the same record as us and finished 6-10, just like us last season ...

How about this: a linebacking group of Orakpo -- Fletcher -- Lee -- Kerrigan would be the best in the league.

With no due respect, eat a rag, for real. I call it like I see it. I knew nothing about Lee before Monday, I think he is a good player. You can't lump the whole fanbase in one group. We know this team (the Redskins) can ball. For goodness sake, we did beat three out of the six NFC playoff teams last year. I can't help if the Cowboys hate on Ryan Kerrigan, they can keep on hatin and watch the sacks pile up for all I care.
Tr1, what is your problem? Every Skins fan needs to digest that post??? Man that post can digest these nuts.
There is this thing called props and when someone deserves them, I give it. Yes the rivalry is becoming good again, but I am not going to sit here and say that all the Cowboys suck because that is not the case. As a Redskin fan, football fan, and a man, I give credit where credit is due.
Yeah we are the ones acting like losers. :ols:
Oh yeah, **** the Cowboys.......

Seriously, do you believe the pukes are a better team than the Skins in the last 13 years?
You may feel obliged to compliment players on rival teams, but I don't think that's part of being a loyal fan. I guess that's just me.
The fact is that Rex's stats were better than Romo's on Monday. A botched field goal was the difference in that game.
So, if we're so inferior as a team, you'd must admit the pukes are pretty bad themselves.
I'm tired of having to defend our team against its own fans...especially under the Shanny era. This team has become competitive again. We have a real GM.
But, after one loss on the road against a division rival, hoards of Skins fans come out and pile on the team.
Thick and thin, fellas. Thick and thin.
BTW, the Skins will make the playoffs this year...the pukes won't.
Do you agree?

I don't know why anyone would be hating on Kerrigan. He has shown great ability to make plays and very much deserved that DROM award. I fully admit that I didn't think much of him when the skins drafted him. I thought nice player but nothing special. Well I may have been wrong because he looks like he could be very special as he matures in the league.

That is your problem, you are twisting my words. YOU TWIST EVERYBODY WORDS!!! I don't see anybody in this thread bringing up the past decade, we were talking about Monday and we were talking about one player Sean Lee. Heck yeah I agree that we are a better team than the Cowboys. Heck yeah Grossman played a better game than Romo Monday. Hail yeah I think we make the playoffs and the Cowboys don't. (Here is some knowledge for you, while we are getting better as the season progresses, I think the Cowboys will regress :2cents: )
Not complimenting a rival player isn't being a loyal fan, it is being a bamma.
Heck yeah the Cowboys are a putrid team, we handed them the game and they barely beat us. But this thread was about one person and one person only, Sean Lee.
**** Cowboy fans don't look at tr1 as the face of Redskins Nation. He just loves getting people riled up for kicks. Unfortunately he has finally gotten me :( ****

My bad for singling you out though, I just felt like I got attacked and I had to respond. I think you are a cool dude and all, but you need to chill-out sometimes. Aint nothing wrong with giving an opposing player some props.

I was pissed when the cowboys drafted Lee. That dude won that game for you guys and will be an absolute beast for years to come. Damn it.
We have two awesome edge backers and London is one of the best in the game. If we can find a backer like Lee to play in the middle in the next draft, we will be scary.

He's from Penn State, Linebacker U. I wanted us to draft him two drafts ago, but we didn't have a second round pick thanks to the McNabb trade.
+1
Lee is a great player and a stand up guy I use to love watching him play with PSU to bad he plays for the cowpukes.
