Straight from Jason LaCanfora's twitter page

"And, FWIW, Skins put in waiver claim on WR Brian Robiskie Wed, but JAX ahead of them"

we just missed a young talented wr who has not transitioned yet to the NFL.

I dont think its a first come first serve scenario for waiver claims to the best of my knowledge. I read on rotoworld that if we sign him it could cost Banks his spot

Lord knows we need more young talented WRs who have not transitioned to the NFL yet.

He's not related to our one time receivers and interim HC Terry Robiske by chance is he?

Or is it just a coincidental name?

Hail.

I've always been a fan of Robiske since Ohio State and he's been playing in the WCO w/ Cleveland.
But this is a head scratcher.
Cleveland needs WR and they let him go?
And we already have a log jam at WR.

Or we just missed on a guy who can't separation in the NFL.

And already think our young receivers stink.

Sincerely,

Captain Negative

it works like this. the worst team in the nfl gets 1st shot to claim and goes in that order till someone claims

They cut Robinskie (sorry Deion) for a reason. He couldn't get any separation from his defenders. We don't need another one of those.

Yup, he's the WR coach for ATL and they didn't put a claim in on his son. Sad.lol

Role model for Shanahan.

I just said in another thread we should claim him and drop Stallworth. I don't know what we're waiting for with Stall, his lone bit of value WAS his speed...

i was also wondering who we would have waived had we got him -- probably Stallworth

We might have a log jam, but what we don't have is a someone from this group that scares anybody.

I'm surprised he's struggled considering his background - I wonder what the deal is with him?

:ols:

And the last thing we needed anyway was more scrub WR's.

Paul, Hankerson and Austin should be playing/contending for that no. 1 and 2 spot. Moss out of the slot in his final years can regenerate what he's lost. The time is now for the rookies to prove they are starting caliber or busts. You dont get many opportunities in this league. When the opportunity arises you better be ready to jump or you drown. Dont know why we would look at Robinske unless the coaches are not confident in the players they have.

The waiver wire in the NFL works exactly like the waiver wire in your fantasy football league. Over a certain period of time, each team has a chance to claim a player, and once the that period of time is up he goes to a team that claimed him. If multiple teams have claimed him, he's goes to the team with highest waiver priority(determined by worst record). If no one claims him he becomes a free agent.

Thank goodness we went after him. 8 WRs just isn't enough.

Exactly.

Seems as though we're already right back where we were at the end of last year, bringing in everyone else's "trash", for lack of a better term, at the skill positions and giving them a try. (We got Choice and tried with Robiskie.) I know we brought in several RBs last year. I thought this is why Skins drafted several RBs and WRs this year? Is this an admission that at least some of those drafted guys was a mistake?

Like it or not, this doesn't give the appearance of progress. To me it feels like Skins are at the same place as they were last year.

I think you always try to improve your roster, for obvious reasons.

He's got to be better than what we have now. Our receiving corps (save Moss and Davis) is F-U-G-L-Y.

Too bad the Jags got him.

ok I LOLed

However I was hopign they would finally get rid of Stallworth and Gaffney. Time to start the youth movement.

My comment was less to do with Robiske (though he doesn't impress me much) and more to do with how silly I thought it was to keep 8 in the first place, especially when 1 is an older mediocrity like Stallworth on a rebuilding team.
