Anyone else remember this from yesterday? Fletch still brings it, even with a lost season and a 23-3 lead. I love the collective "Ohhh" from the Redskins bench!

I Love it, I hope he retires here. IMO he is one of the all-time greats.

Actually don't .... Goodell will find some sort of way to make that defensive play illegal...

WHOOOOO I love me some London Fletcher. Anybody that doesn't love EVERYTHING he brings to the table hates football. There's actually someone here who argued (I think last season) that Fletcher is overrated by us fans and that Fletcher has a tendency to wait on ball carriers and make tackles 10-15 yards down field.:ols:

Does anyone else remember that?

Unfortunately no, but whoever it is deserves that hit from Fletcher more than Pascoe. I actually felt bad for the guy...well, not really, but I wish it would have been Antrel Rolle on an interception return :evilg:

Dude is my hero for real. So glad that we signed him back in 2007. I always knew he was good, but until he played for us, I just didn't know how good he was.

I really believe that if Fletch had played for a good team that gets media attention (i.e. Pats, Steelers, et.c), rather than toiling in obscurity in Buffalo for so long, people would be talking Hall of Fame for this guy. Playing for the Skins and Bills actually seems to hurt his perception league-wide, for all sorts of illogical reasons. It is what it is, good to know London is too big a man to let the chronic lack of respect get to him.

Fletch got him good! quote out today....according to coach Tom Coughlin, who added that TE/FB Bear Pascoe suffered a rib injury. If Pascoe can’t play, TE Travis Beckum is the only player left at the position.

Ever since Perry Riley got the nod to start opposite of London, both of their games have improved immensely.I really think they complement each other well, as Perry is learning from one of the best. Let's hope we can keep this pair together for the future and Shanallen doesn't over think it. Sign London ASAP.

One of my deepest wishes as a Redskin fan is to see the Redskins bring home a Super Bowl championship with London Fletcher starting at MLB. I want him to go to the Hall of Fame as a Redskin so bad. He's by far my favorite Redskin... no one comes close. Sean Taylor was my last favorite, but I'm not sure if Sean was still alive if that would still be the case.

And that's saying a lot. A LOT.

I'm not so sure people won't put him in the HOF. It certainly hurts he's played the majority of his career with the Bills and Redskins, but his body of work, he's made some Pro-Bowls and people forget that he DID win a Super-Bowl as a starter for the Rams. His resume is pretty complete if you ask me. I'd say if he won another with us he'd be an automatic lock. As of right now, he's probably one of those guys that would take several ballots but I still think enough voters out there would ultimately get it right.

The Ravens were playing much better when he was out injured. His first game back they get totally destroyed by a mediocre Chargers club.

Fletcher for HOF! Unlikely since he can barely sniff a pro bowl. This guy is definitely deserving of it.

Look at his career numbers vs Ray Lewis, a surefire first ballot HOF'er. Quite comparable although Ray has a lead on INT's and pass deflections.

Fletcher 14yrs
Tackles 1762 - 125.8/yr
Sacks - 34
FF - 18
INT - 18
TD - 2
PDef - 78
STF/Tack. behind LOS - 56

Lewis 16yrs
Tackles 1976 - 123.5/yr
Sacks - 40.5
FF - 18
INT - 31
TD - 3
PDef - 117
STF/Tackles Behind the LOS - 47

I've always wondered what the hell Buffalo was thinking when they traded him to us.
In hindsight they definitely should've re-signed him, but they didn't, and good news for us.

In their defense, they did think that Posluszny was going to be their franchise MLB, but didn't expect all the injuries he had.

I am not one for paying for older free agents, but Fletcher is the exception. He has been the constant bright spot for this team since he came here. By far the best money we have ever spent

Let him retire as a skin and go into the hall as a skin. He has HOF numbers

It was actually Mike Jones. What a brilliant play that was. What a fantastic season too. I remember watching the Music City Miracle and thinking this is like a movie, not a real game. All my friends at school were arguing about that play in gym class. Oh, Nostalgia.

AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy

I don't think that London is HOF right now. However, I would argue that our change in scheme has been beneficial for him to make his case. It has allowed him to blitz more, etc,, and I believe that has helped him "jump out" to the football audience more than he did in the 4-3.

I believe he will make the Pro Bowl this year, and if I am right he has made it the past two seasons as an alternate (still counts as a trip, but I could be wrong). I would say that if he plays 3 more seasons with us, and makes the Pro Bowl every year, and somehow we contend...he might get himself a ticket to Canton. I know, a lot of "if"s.:)

I'm so glad someone posted that Brandon Jacobs hit. That was classic. Fletch gets his due as a tackler, but not as a big hitter...which he truly is.

Wait, he got shafted again for 2011?

Apparently, the only Redskins who finished near the top of the Pro Bowl voting was Rak, who was third behind DeMarcus Ware and Clay Matthews. No one else came close, apparently; there's no mention of London being anywhere close.

Which is a frakking crime if there ever was one. The Pro Bowl is such bull. It almost makes you wish only coaches and players voted on it.

...And then I remembered the players left London off the Top 100 Players of 2011 list on NFL Network last season and stuck Donovan McNabb on it and realized that would a horrible idea too.

Wilbur Marshall, Dave Butz, Ernest Byner, Mark Moseley, London Fletcher

I thought Byner was a trade with Cleveland?

And Wilbur Marshall was more of a trade than a FA signing - we had to surrender 2 first round picks to the Bears to make that deal happen.

But if we are going back that far...Matt Millen had a good season for the Skins in 1991 but wasn't active for the playoffs because we were going up against run n shoot offenses. Tim whatshisface in 1990 or 1991.

Ken Harvey

Damn, it is a short list. But I think you can add Bowen, Cofield, and possibly Wilson to the list.

I'm happy with the pickups they made this year. I remember when the Eagles were signing everybody, and we were signing so called "B-talent" how pissed many people were here. We made the right move - it's these kinds of signings that build a team, not big-splashers.

I hope Fletch never leaves this organization. Resign him and let him play until he says he can't any longer. I believe he is the type of stand-up guy that would admit when he could no longer be competitive (4 years from now, maybe!) After that, sign him as a coach. I love the fact this organization is investing in character guys (Fletch, Cofield, Kerrigan, Helu, OneManGang, etc.) Only good things come from guys working hard and staying positive. I hope we win out and go 7-9. I don't care how that sets us up in the draft because I believe things will work out for an organization that continues to fight. I'm proud this team is on the right track and I enjoy watching the guys gang tackle play with nothing to lose. They'll only continue to get better with a mix of draft and FA.
