I'm glad Bowen and Cofield will make their careers as Redskins. They were just backups previously and now are making names for themselves as Redskins.

I think it's overlooked just how important that is to this franchise. First and foremost, it means we've got coaches and scouts who have a great eye for talent and can project guys with limited snaps into greater roles. Secondly, this is proof to all other potential FAs that they can come here and establish their NFL careers successfully. Third, both of these guys came from our division rivals and will create legitimate thoughts and desires in the minds of solid, but unheralded, players coming from those teams to play for us when they become FAs.

If I was a FA, there's no doubt I would really think long and hard about coming to the Skins a lot more than any other organization after seeing those examples. Especially if I wasn't a key part of my previous team.
