With the Chiefs & Dolphins winning the Coin Flip tosses this morning, the NFL 2012 draft is set.

I've been observing many Mock Drafts and most if not all have a similar theme.
Mock Drafts from Redskins taking a D-Lineman @#6, which we don't need to
reaching for Tannehill @#6, which would be insane. Some have us trading up to #2 for RG3 & some have us standing pat for Reiff or Blackmon.

But all in all, there is no imagination or creativity to most Mocks I've seen anywhere on the Internet.

If there's one thing we know...not even Kiper or McShay can predict the chaos that happens on Draft day.

And you know what...?Neither can I :shhh:
But one thing I can do, is give you guys a Mock to at least look at and say to yourselves "Well, at least this one isn't like the 1000's I've looked at today" :doh1:

So without further ado, I give you my 1st & only Mock Draft of the year.
Enjoy!

1)TRADE:WAS(Ind)=QB-Andrew Luck-Stanford
(Redskins trade #6 pick, 3rd rd #70 pick, 1st rd 2013 Pick, 3rd rd 2013 Pick & SS LaRoid Landry W/F-tag to Colts)
Redskins rack their brain on which of the 2 QB's best fit their scheme & organization & decide they can't pass up the best prospect since John Elway. Colts keep P. Manning and pay him the 28M roster Bonus & get their *new* & younger Bob Sanders for their Defense.
2)TRADE:KC(STL)=QB-Robert Griffin III-Baylor
(Chiefs trade #11 Pick, #43rd Pick in 2nd rd, 1st rd Pick in 2013 & WR DeWayne Bowe W/F-tag to Rams)
Romeo gets his man! Knowing that Matt Cassel is not the answer & unsure about Orton being the answer as well, the K.C. Chiefs make their move for a long awaited Franchise QB.
3)MIN=OT-Matt Kalil-USC
4)CLE=WR-Justin Blackmon-OK State
5)TB=RB-Trent Richardson-Alabama
6)IND(WAS)=CB-Morris Claiborne-LSU
7)JAC=OT-Riley Reiff-Iowa
8)MIA=OT-Jonathan Martin-Stanford
9)CAR=DE-Quinton Coples-North Carolina

13)ARI=OG-David DeCastro-Stanford
14)DAL=CB-Janoris Jenkins-North Alabama
15)PHI=MLB-Vontaze Burfict-Arizona State (you know the eagles and their crazy draft picks...but I can see the eagles doing something like this, although a little bit of a reach... but he does have that J. Trotter mentality)
16)NYJ=WR-Kendall Wright-Baylor
17)CIN=DT-Michael Brockers-LSU
18)SD=ILB-Luke Kuechly-Boston College
19)TRADE: DEN(CHI)=WR Michael Floyd-Notre Dame
(Denver trades #88th Pick in 3rd rd to move up 6 spots for a big need at WR for Tebow. A WR that slips through the cracks and Denver gets very good value here at little cost)
20)TEN=OT-Mike Adams-Ohio State
21)CIN=CB-Alfonzo Dennard-Nebraska
22)CLE=OC-Peter Konz-Wisconsin
23)DET=OG-Cordy Glenn-Georgia

27)TRADE:WAS(NE)=ILB-Dont'a Hightower-Alabama
(Redskins trade #39 in 2nd rd, #102 in 4th rd & 4th rd pick in 2013)
Redskins don't pass up the opportunity to get Fletcher's future replacement & competition for Perry Riley @ILB for the future. Hightower is a menace on the field, who's motor will rival that of OLB Ryan Kerrigan. Redskins set @LB for a very long time in 3-4.
28)GB=SS-Mark Barron-Alabama
29)BAL=TE-Dwayne Allen-Clemson
30)SF=DT-Devon Still-Penn State
31)NE=DE/OLB-Nick Perry-USC

This is a dream. But I would not waste a 5th pick on a QB when you get THE ONE! I think we should get a WR with that pick or CB. It would just be a waste to get Moore like for what? Just resign Grossman and go from there. We got our future plan and that is Luck no need for future backup plan.

The trade up to #1 (or #2) I could live with if ShanAllen sees that as the future, but to trade back into the first round AFTER already trading up in it? I, I just... We had one year of not throwing all of our draft picks out the window. I really hope anything like this doesnt happen. Our drafts are then crippled for the next 3 years.

I appreciate your thought but this doesn't make any sense to me. RGIII to KC? Where is this "big hole" at WR for Denver? Thomas was outstanding this season and Eric Decker was well above average before his injury. They could always use more playmakers, specifically at running back, but I couldn't see them trading up for one.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but it looks like you just made off the wall predictions to be different.

Edit*- Wow, I didn't even see our second first round pick. You think we're trading up to #1, and then still moving back into the end of the first round? You've been spending too much time with Trent and Freddy.

Draft crippled for 3 years?
With what I have, we go into 2013 draft without a 1st,3rd & 4th.
Full draft in 2014

Having a 2nd in 2013, allows the option to trade down & recoup a 3rd &/or 4th as well.
Either way, very small price to pay for a Blue Chip QB prospect & an absolute monster to replace London when he's gone.

I also believe we have a 5th coming in 2013 as well, from the Haynesworth trade.
Not 100% sure on that.

Laxpunk2006

What is the point in trading up for what would be a backup linebacker? Is the one year of added experience in our system worth giving up multiple draft picks when we could just wait until 2013 to draft Fletcher's replacement? Or even a later round pick this year?

It seems to me that part of the justification for spenind high draft picks on a player would be that they not only have talent/upside but are potentially ready to start as a rookie. When we have starters at that position it seems like those resources could be better spent.

My boy D&S is wicked smaht.

Very ambitious, I'll give you that.

I don't know about trading 7 picks for 2 players in this draft, but if both guys turn into All-Pro types, I guess it could work.

Last year we turned 6 draft spots (#10 to #16) into 3-4 potential startes for this team when we started out with nothing really. I like that scenerio much better than trading up twice to take two guys that are not locks to be great. Would just rather have the picks. Not downing your mock, I just hope that isnt a direction they choose to go.

You guys are pretty brutal

A)Chiefs need a franchise QB, as bad as we do.
Matt Cassel sucks something awful & Orton may be re-signed or could test the waters somewhere else. Either way, Teams know what they have in Orton.
B)Romeo Crennel is a newly hired coach inheriting a very talented offense, with no good QB. So talented in fact, that they can trade Bowe & still have S. Breaston, D. Mcluster & Jonathan Baldwin.
Not to mention the stud TE in Moeaki and their awesome running game.

They could easily trade for RG3 or sit at #11 and wait for Tannehill to fall.

You guys act like the Chiefs are set at QB.
Cassel sucks and Tebow beat our Orton. Don't tell me the chiefs are set at QB.

I would rather have Grossman than Cassel.

This is awful. Sorry MSF. First off, we are not tagging Landry. Second, no way he offers as much value as you think.

Third, no way Colts are not getting either RG3 or Luck.

Lastly, you think thats all it will take to get to 1?

Tebow didn't "beat out" Orton. They made a switch midseason because they weren't winning games. Tebow did some great things last season but that Denver offense just wasn't talented.

Cassel doesn't "suck" and there QB situation isn't "just as bad" as ours. In 2010 Cassel put up 27 TD's to 7 INT's and won the AFCW.

Maybe Cassel isn't ever going to be a franchise type QB, but there aren't nearly as many of those guys in the league as fans would like to think.

Trading Bowe doesn't make sense unless it is for cap reasons. Breaston is a pretty good #2 reciever but he isn't a top guy. McCluster is a runningback and Baldwin caught all of 21 passes after missing time for getting into a fist fight with a team leader. You want to turn it over to those guys thinking "we're set?" Sure QB > WR but you have to at least admit your opening a hole in your offense.

Nope...looks like a I nailed it! :)

How often do safeties get traded for second round picks? Especially safeties coming off two injured seasons that haven't been able to prove the ability to regain their health? They would also be forced to hand him a large salary. If they wanted to do all of that why wouldn't they have kept Bob Sanders?

Also while the #1 may be "worth" 3000 points, do you think we would be the only team interested in adding Andrew Luck? Supply and demand, that price is going to get driven up.

Missouri - I won't be so harsh as the others but these are things you have to conisder.

#1 Even if the Colts consider Peyton Manning healthy AND pay him, they are still taking Andrew Luck. The decision has been made and it has been public knowledge for weeks. Isray point blank said that those two will be teammates if Peyton is healthy.

#2 No team in the NFL is more desperate for a WR then the Bears. They have an elite QB elite defense and elite RB with NO playmakers on the outside. Even if they go get a Dwayne Bowe, they will not be done adding WR's. - So Chicago won't let Denver swoop into this spot and take Floyd

#3 New England will want a 1st rounder in return

#4 No way the Rams trade back so far with the Chiefs. This doesnt allow them to draft one of the top 4 players in this years draft. It makes no sense. They would rather stay at 2 and take Blackmon or Khalil then trade back to take other 1st round talent.

Well..I know the Niners traded bust Taylor Mays for I believe a 5th or 6th rd draft choice.
He's a former 2nd rd draft choice.

If he's worth that, what is the former 1st rd #6 pick SS?

On December 15, 2011, Coach Mike Shanahan stated that he believed Landry "would’ve been defensive player of the year" for the 2010 season had he not been injured

Landry may juicing..he may even get hurt more often than we like

That value system does not apply anymore with rookie pay scale. In addition, we are talking about the best QB prospect since Elway, this is arguably the most valuable #1 pick in 15-20 years. It would take 3 1st's, a 2nd, and a 3rd IMO to get the colts pick, atleast.

I'm talking like...I would rather take him @#6 over Tannehill awesome....(Not suggesting we should though...lol)

Watch for yourselves, if you don't believe me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXsxoisEmxQ

I have no idea, why he's projected so low in the 20's.
Overshadowed by other Alabama players like Upshaw, Kirtpatrick, Richardson & Barron? Perhaps..

But from the film I've watched, he's the best of this whole Defensive group, imo.
(with the exception to Richardson, who's an Offensive player & a beast)

I'll add:

#5 No way we trade "up" twice- Once in the 1st round and once into the 1st round.

#6 Cassel in 2010 put up 27/7. Last year he was injured and they have too much money/picks invested in him,

#7 Why would you draft Kellen Moore if you draft Luck (supposedly the next Peyton)

#8 MSF "THINKS" that every team in the NFL wants a gimpy, achilles injured, non tackling safety. Really? How is LL is so wanted right now when he'll cost so much?

Landry may juicing..he may even get hurt more often than we like
But he's no scrub.

No he's not a scrub and a vital part of our defense when healthy. Other teams aren't stupid. You don't become an executive of a business worth hundreds of millions of dollars by being an idiot. If we move on from Landry then its clear to the rest of the league that our doctors that have been with him through the entire injury/rehab process do not have faith in him returning full strength. That isn't to say another team won't take a risk on him, but they wouldn't be valuing him as a second round pick.

Taylor Mays played a single rookie season before being traded so "bust" is a little premature. Landry who I happen to be a fan of, could also be considered a "bust" given his draft position. The fact that we drafted him #6 in 2007 doesn't effect his 2012 value.

Even beyond that, it is his injury status, not his talent that is going to determine his value. Whether he comes back at 100% next season or not, I sincerely doubt he will be able to prove it before the NFL draft. If that is the case the Colts or anyone else won't be valuing him as a second round selection. We also most likely won't be franchising him to begin with because that tag, which you only get one of, is going to Fred Davis.

No problem with what you have for the Skins, MSF, but if that happens, I have to believe the Colts are going to pick an OLB for their 3-4 with their first pick. Need 3-4 LBs over secondary this year.

Cool...and only because I haven't plugged him in a while...you see my boy DGB on signing day a few weeks back? He's headed to Mizzou & then will be a 1st rounder in 2014 Draft, guarantee it...

I've been going back and forth on this, and I respectfully disagree. If the Colts deem Peyton to be healthy, I think their new HC(formally Baltimore's DC) is going to want to get picks so he can pick up some 3-4 players. IF Peyton is healthy, they will have a pretty good idea of what the offense is going to be, but the defense is going to be in utter shambles unless he can get some 3-4 personnel. I don't find it impossible he goes that route this year, and gets Peyton's replacement next year. I use "replacement" loosely, cuz hey, it is Peyton after all. :)

Yep, no way the Chiefs trade up for RG3.
Just ridiculous...

Btw...He met with the Chiefs, Browns & Eagles today
you're welcome!

This is neat: Robert Griffin III will meet with the Kansas City Chiefs at the 2012 NFL Combine. The former Baylor quarterback broke the news at his media availability on Friday.

I suspect plenty of people will be excited about this news but I doubt it's a sign the Chiefs are going to move up in the NFL draft and select him (although the St. Louis Rams are willing to deal the second pick).

Each NFL team will have 15 minutes with 60 different players at the NFL Combine so RG3 is one 60 for the Chiefs. This is probably just some due diligence on the Chiefs part. I don't see how A.) RG3 falls or B.) the Chiefs trade up to get him.

He said at his Combine press conference that he met with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night and will meet with the Chiefs and Cleveland Browns tonight. (So the Chiefs Friday night plans in Indy...hanging out with RG3. Sweet.)

But....man, wouldn't that be cool if they did? NFL Network's Mike Mayock says he's the type of player who you have to hold onto your seat for because you're going for a ride. Clearly, one of the most exciting players in the draft.

So, Chiefs meeting with RG3...what do you think?

To walk with the #1 overall pick I'm thinking the Skins would have to give up the '12 1,2,4 and '13 1,2 and starting player the Colts need.

I'm sure if RGIII fell to KC they would consider taking him. We met with Jamarcus Russel before the draft the year everyone knew he was going #1 too. Every team is going to meet with prospects they know they won't have a realistic shot at and it doesn't mean they are going to trade up. It's called "due diligence," your article even mentions that. It's for the unlikely even he falls.

Toss in Orakpo and I jump all over it if I were Irsay. Go after Barkley in 2013.

Orakpo & Kerrigan are off limits.
They are unavailable at all costs, imo.

They are the future & anchor to our 3-4 Defense.

I would offer and/or trade any player on the Redskins roster, except those 2 players.
Can't have them.

As much as I would like the Skins to trade up to the #1 Spot and draft Andrew Luck, I think we will be giving up way too much -- especially, keeping in mind we don't have a to of draft picks to begin with.

Everything is still going as plan, for my Mock for now....

Source: Chiefs will tag Dwayne Bowe
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7615420/source-kansas-city-chiefs-franchise-dwayne-bowe-two-sides-reach-deal

By Adam Schefter
The Kansas City Chiefs plan to use the franchise tag on wide receiver Dwayne Bowe if the two sides cannot reach a new deal, according to a league source.

The franchise tag number for wide receivers this year is $9.5 million.

The 27-year-old Bowe had another good season despite a revolving door of quarterbacks in Kansas City last season, catching 81 passes for 1,159 yards and five touchdowns.

It was his third 1,000-yard season, and he has caught at least 70 passes in four of his five NFL seasons. He led the NFL in 2010 with 15 touchdown receptions and has 36 TD catches in his career.

One NFL general manager estimated that, with the cost of the franchise tags decreasing because of the new collective bargaining agreement, as many as 25 tags could be used to restrict player movement this offseason.

The franchise tag used to be based on the average of the top five salaries at that position from last season. In the new CBA, it's based on the average of the top five salaries at that position from the previous five seasons.

Of course, they will have to give him the "Non-Exclusive" Tag, too make him available to another team in trade. So we'll see....

Kind of sucks, cause I want Bowe here bad & that won't happen now.

I could definitely live with both picks but not going to happen.

I could live with the girl in your sig too, but that ain't gonna happen either. You are so right. If the Colts trade out Irsay is going to be run out of Indy. Even if they keep Manning (doubtful) they draft Luck. He has a history of taking the best QB when in the 1 slot, why does that change now? And trading back up for a ILBer? When Shanny has shown the propensity to trade down and gather picks?? Just leaves me saying "MSF's leftfield one legged Mock" has fallen down.

They would rather stay at 2 and take Blackmon or Khalil then trade back to take other 1st round talent.

since Irsay said that he adjusted his claim saying they'd take Luck or Griffin.

Funny thought, Luck doesn't seem to have much ego but if he wants to start and the Colts haven't cut Manning by the draft would he maybe say he'd prefer to play elsewhere?

I bet the chiefs are the *Mystery* team.
They've also already met with him, which is just a formality, but still.

Some of you don't realize, just how sucky Matt Cassel is.
Trust me..I KNOW

If I had to go into the 12' season with Grossman or Cassel...I would choose Grossman.
Seriously..I'm not kidding
He's that bad.

Having said that....I hope we land RG3 & not them.
Yes, I hope my mock is wrong.
(unless we do land Luck...which would be awesome)
