Tilbury told investigators he and some friends ate mushrooms and drank a tea made from the substance Tuesday afternoon. His friends left his house shortly after and he fell asleep.

"Tilbury said he woke up and it felt like it wasn't real," deputies wrote in the report.

The teen told investigators he felt like he was awake in a bad nightmare and could not escape from his house.

"He thought if he shot himself he would wake up from the bad dream," investigators said.

The teen told deputies he walked into his parents' bedroom and got a .22-caliber rifle. He then went back to his own bedroom, sat down on his bed, put the butt of the gun on the floor, removed the safety and fired once into his own forehead.

"He said after he shot himself he didn't wake up from the bad dream," the report states.

Tilbury tried to clean the blood that got on the carpet, wrapped a bandage around his head and walked outside.

He saw a man whom he asked to take him to the hospital.

And make sure you're in a safe environment or have a spotter (for nature "trips") Me, personally, have done em by myself once but had my 2 best buds with me on the nature trip so it was cool. All the other times have been with real good friends and we've just vibed out. Always a good time.

Yup very true words my friend! Just curious, have you ever experimented with DMT? Apparently, the best out of body "trip" one will ever experience. Could have done it last summer at All Good fest, but didn't have any money left to buy some. One of my buds did it, and said it completely changed his life, mentally and spiritually. DMT: the Spirit molecule is a book I'd recommend, and joe rogan talks about it a ton in diff youtube vids.

I've used these drugs "Back in the day" that part of my life is behind me, but I have learned some real lessons from those days. From the good trips, but especially from the bad trips.

"you can turn your back on a person but you can't turn your back on a drug" (or something like that) Bad trips can be very frightening, and very useful because when you are in your own mind, tripping out on shrooms and you are confronted with your own failures, you have nowhere to go. You can't go get drunk or high and push the problem to the back of your mind. You can't go for a run and push those to the back of your mind. You cant just avoid the people who are lecturing you. The failure is brought right to the forefront of your conscience and you have no choice but to deal with it.

There's documentaries on the subject of LSD tests performed in the 40s and 50s on subjects for the use of curing addiction, behavior modification, etc.
Thru controlled dosages and controlled environments, subjects were led down the path to where you said, where they confronted those problems while tripping their nuts off.
they managed to cure alcoholics & smokers in a weekend.
Then it was made illegal. Which I can understand, it's a very powerful drug, and can be used to put people in a highly suggestive state, and then to alter their behavior in such a way that it can change their personality. It only makes sense that the gov't should control this :silly:
But really, the potential positive uses of LSD get overshadowed by a fear of it... and unfortunately, it's not a fear that is unfounded.

LSD is insane. I lived on strawberry blotters for about three years. It definitely changed me. I'll never eat acid again.
