I was just chatting with Asbury about the Dark Knight... about the movie itself and not the tragedy. He mentioned that he got to see it at a matinee for 5.75 and I thought... Whoa, I haven't seen a price that low in years. For me, matinee is about 9 bucks and more if there's 3D attached.
Worse, they only take two bucks off the prime time price. Matinees used to be half price when I was a kid.
What do you pay and how much did you first pay for a movie. The cheapest I ever paid was 99 cents at a second run house, but I really remember it being about 4.50.

The first was a quarter or 15 cents for the early show
I think it's 5 bucks now for the early show at the newer place

Man, maybe it's just really expensive around here. For five bucks, you can afford watching a dumb movie. At ten, I figure you better catch something good esp. if you are bringing along others.

Where I live Matinee for adults, non 3D, is $6.50 at a decent theatre, and $7 at the newest one

Pretty sure its only 5 bucks at the one closest to me. And for some reason I also think it's only 5 bucks M-Th anytime.

A movie in Evansville, Indiana is 6.75, and that's not even the matinee. I was floored and asked the ticket lady why is what so cheap. She said that was the first time anyone asked her that and normally people ask her why it's so expensive. Here in Chicago I went to see a movie and it was 12.50. It was a new theater but it wasn't even good, horribly designed. Never going back there.

It ranges from $7.50 to $8.50 here. One cinema does have a deal where it's $5.50 between 4 and 5:30.

Just want to throw this out there. If you are a Armed Forces Vet you get matinee prices for all show times at Regal Theaters.

Just got my Virginia Veterans card at the DMV and putting it to use. I love the fact that I don't have to carry my DD214 everywhere.

The theater I went to in Minneapolis had $5 matinee (until noon on weekends, until I think 5 on weekdays) and $7.50 weeknight prices. Fri-Sun nights were the regular $10.50. Was a nice theater, too.
At Rio in Gaithersburg I think it's $6 matinee and $11 everything else.
