This was a move that the organization needed to make, especially when you read the stories coming out this morning. Cassidy was completely incompetent and disorgainized. He had lost all repect from the players.

There is no way a coach can be successul on the professional level when he pulls some of the stunts he did. It is obvious that McPhee and the Caps braintrust missed BADLY when they made the hire.

Hanlon, by all accounts, seems to be a good fit for this team. There is enough talent here to make a playoff run, and in the NHL things can get turned around pretty quickly.

Let's see if we see more inspired play by Jagr and co. in the next few games. But if we don't and the team can't get in the playoffs, McPhee is the next one to go.
