So it's finally that time of year again. I never realize how much I miss baseball until the Super Bowl ends...

Anyway, how do you guys think our lineup will look? This is what I'm thinking:

Hairston/Roberts 2B

here's what i think the lineup will be:

1) Jerry Hairston/Brian Roberts-2b
2) Melvin Mora-3b
3) Miguel Tejada-ss
4) Rafael Palmeiro-1b
5) Javy Lopez-c
6) Jay Gibbons-rf
7) Larry Bigbie-lf
8) Luis Matos-cf
9) David Segui/Jack Cust-dh

i should note that dh and 1b will be a mix of the following:

Palmeiro/Segui/Cust/B.J. Surhoff/Mark McLemore/Marty Cordova

now as far as the pitching rotation goes:

1) Sidney Ponson
2) Rodrigo Lopez
3) Kurt Ainsworth
4) Eric Dubose
5) Matt Riley/Omar Daal

Bullpen:

Closer-Jorge Julio
Mike DeJean
B.J. Ryan
Rick Bauer
Buddy Groom

i recently read that they might trade either Hairston or Roberts & possibly Buddy Groom for a veteran starter, so that may change things a little.

I think Roberts will beat out Harriston for the 2nd Base spot. They may be tied for fielding defense although harriston may have a slight edge with his range, but Roberts definetly is a better contact hitter than "swing for the fences/Pop up to outfield" Harriston.

hairtston definitely used to try and prove he belonged by overswinging, but last year he looked like he had turned things around before he got injured. His OBP was up, he was being more selective, and was quite effective from the top pf the order. As long as he is not dealt to the Yankees, he should win the job. When are they going to make a Yankees Suck smiley face. If they have a Jets Suck, there is no reason not to have a Yankees Suck.

I like Roberts over Hairston..but hopefully one of them will just step up and take the job.
